I think hes just not a fan of the whole thing, but he still somewhat respects it because of what they did to his career.

Pretty much only returned money You know what? Good for him. Everyone in every other job in the world do it for the money. I don't see why actors should have to do it for some romanticized reason. Actors got to make a living too. His response made me laugh though.

He performed his role in TFA at a very high level. That is all that concerns me about Ford as it relate to SW.

I believe his character in Blade Runner is further away from who he is, so it appears he's doing "better acting" as he's actually acting. Han Solo is pretty close to who Harrison is, so it appears like he's phoning it in when he's really just being himself. If that makes sense.

I see it the other way around. Rick Deckard feels more natural as he is essentially Harrison Ford playing himself, a normal, slightly grumpy and introverted guy with a crazy job doing it for the money.
Han Solo and Indy are Saturday morning cartoon characters, the grinning lovable rogue-adventures (uni profs, smuggler, murderer, relict archaeologist etc). That's so not Ford.

I was talking more personality wise than what the characters do in the movies. Sure, he isn't a space smuggler with a dog friend or a whip wielding, nazi fighting archeologist. However, Harrison is sarcastic, matter of fact, charismatic (when he wants to be), and short on patience just like Han solo is.

Doesn't hate it as much as Alec Guinness did. That's a common misconception. Alec hated the obsession with Star Wars. He did not hate the story or films themselves. Here he is talking about his enjoyment of the story back in 1977:
