Not saying he has the most "star" appeal (that would go to RDJ or SLJ ) but damn, Renner is imo the best actor out of all the Avengers. He has way more range than all those MCU actors imo. He might not be the most impressive in those Avenger films because he doesn't have super powers but he is putting in work in many other films (Hurt Locker, The Town , Kill the Messenger , Arrival, Wind River etc etc) Gotta say, I don't see another MCU actor with a more impressive filmography recently.

He has two academy award nominations. As to being a better actor amongst the Avengers from a technical perspective? You could make that argument. But with acting it’s largely subjective. RDJ is a skilled actor. Just because he is often a dick when given creative freedom doesn’t change that fact.
But the entire MCU? It’s pointless to argue that. There are so many exceptional actors that it’s probably impossible to judge who is best. Robert Redford, John C Reilly, William Hurt and many, many others are all of the highest quality imo.
