I thought that he had blown it when he hit his second at a par 5 into the trees and took 6. He must be a strong contender for the Masters, although Justin Thomas looks in top form....in rounds 3 & 4, anyway. If he could get going a little sooner he would be uncatchable.

It was a blast from the past to see Phil win again. It'd be great if he and Tiger are in top form for the Master. Tiger is coming along OK. The Masters may be beyond him at the moment but if he can complete a whole season without breaking down, he'll be a force next year. My Masters picks. Phil Mick Justin Thom Jordan Speith Jason Day Sergio Tommy Fleetwood Rory seems to have lost it, for the time being and Henrik Stenson seems to be still celebrating his Open win. Not many other Europeans look likely. Maybe Thomas Pieters, maybe Jon Rahm. Justin Rose I fance for the US Open or the PGA. This is too early in the year for his stars to cosy up to Mars. |
