My only experience with him is The Name of the Rose, which I enjoyed a lot even though some of it was archaic and over my head. I also read about 50 pages of Foucault's Pendulum, which was even more challenging. I want to give it another try some day.

Stick with Foucalt's Pendulum, once you get past the tough beginning it is a masterpiece.

I love both of those books, two of my all-time favourites, especially Foucault's Pendulum. Its really a case of diminishing returns after that though, pretty much everything else was a struggle to plough through, and most of them weren't worth it. The Prague Cemetery was quite an entertaining read, if you do fancy delving further.

Hey, my only experience with Eco was watching the film adaptation. And that was just for Valentina Vargas.
