LOL! You like the movie? Try reading the book. It'll really knock your socks off. Don't forget to follow up with Authority and Acceptance. Never saw a fad you didn't like, eh?

Saw it yesterday. Indeed a must-see with some genuinly creepy stuff and creative concepts in the tradition of 2001-ASO, Arrival, Body Snachters and such.
What I don't get is the constant comparision with Black Panther the latter of which is a commercialized PG 13 Marvel movie vs an artsy apocalyptic invasion story. Red Letter media did it too in a very solid review, but what gives. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtePG4Pon_M

Yup its very good. And many films are greater than Black panther. But really what is the point of this thread other than to try and goad people?

Right right right, for BP to be any good we needed to see T'Challa eating people to show the film was "mature". Got it.

I was referring to how you implied BP was bad for being "commercial" and PG-13. Which means you wouldn't think that if T'Challa went around eating people because that's somehow "mature".

You spend your life with so many blinding projections that I'm genuinly surprised you did not bump your brains out already.
If it helps you sleep at night, Black Panther was leagues better than that R-rated black Marvel-Vampire or any other - commercial or un-commercial - black superhero film I remember (minus Black Lightning which is at 100% rated which means it must be über-awesome Im sure).
The Pink Panther easily kicks every Marvel Panther ass though.

Because some people are acting like BP deserves an Oscar nomination and we're not even 3 full months into the year. And what has that got to do with Annihilation and it being better than BP? Absolutely nothing. Annihilation is a good film but, it has pacing issues and is somewhat derivative of other pioneering works like Solaris. It's a near virtuoso film that is hobbled by plodding, uneven pacing until its third-act climax. That said, Annihilation is an excellent indicator that, sooner rather than later, Alex Garland will make an undeniably great science-fiction film. Once he gets his hands on the right material, he will change the game.

And what has that got to do with Annihilation and it being better than BP? Absolutely nothing. Annhiliation didnt even get a cinema release here in Europe, its gone straight to Netflix. Whilst Black Panther was being shown at every single screening bar none in some cinemas. Its a travesty. Disneys PR machine is too powerful and films like Annhilation get thrown to the dumpster because of it.

Disneys PR machine is too powerful and films like Annhilation get thrown to the dumpster because of it. Black Panther, the film, has little to do with how the producers of Annihilation chose to market and distribute their movie. Apparently, the producers of Annihilation did not have faith in that film's ability to compete - head-to-head - with other block busters in the same genre. It's fun to lambaste Disney and call them devils for trivializing the high art of classical filmmaking, isn't it? It feels good to gather around the anti-Disney campfire and sing 35mm hymnals. Marvel Comic Books and all of its imprints and subsidiariesa were on the verge of total extinction before Disney wrote a rather large check. Was I happy when the mouse took control over the most magnificent collection of comic book characters known to man? No, but, you know what? I sucked it up - every joke, every insult, every prognostication of mismanagement and abuse - I took it all on the chin. I bleed to keep the red in the Marvel logo. And, I would rather all the celluloid in existence burn in one nitrocellulose-powered blaze of glory than see those characters wink out of existence. Never forget that.

Marvel wasn’t on the verge of extinction. But yes, Disney will help boost the brand and I too am happy enough with that. But you don’t seem to very discerning regarding your opinion of the output. Some of what Disney have released has been garbage. I may like that Marvel is thriving but I don’t grease my ass in order to praise them. If they put trash on your plate that doesn’t mean that you have to eat it up.

If Marvel makes something I don't like I say so - ONCE - and then I move on. That's how life works. Putting it on loop means you have an agenda. And, don't talk to me about what I like and what I don't like, brother. It won't end well.

No, not for me, for you. Your whole persona is weak, and you ain't got the stones to mess with Death Man. You're a troublemaking troll a coward and a liar. Yeah, DairyHeiress and I exchanged notes on your extracurricular activities outside of the CBM boards yesterday. You're a colossal joke. I got you on speed dial, dipshit. I don't just own you - I operate you, and I void the warranty - for laughs. How long will it be before you're running scared again and self-delete because you got cornered on some lame and ignorant nonsense you posted? You want to act stupid, and play the fool, do it on your own time. When you tell me what I should like and how I should like it; you're clearly losing your battle with sanity, son. You savor the opportunity to walk up to people's front doors, defecate on their lawn and tell them it's gold. But, the thing is, you have nothing to say of any merit about anything to anyone. Chimps throwing feces at the walls of their cages have more well-reasoned arguments and opinions. Tired of humoring you, kid. Now before you respond, take a minute for yourself and set some goals.
