incorrect in terms of films? Like when I am around people and they talk about how great fear and loathing in las vegas is? It just bothers me because I can't tell them how wrong they are, because that's just plain rude AF. So I have to quietly ignore how wrong they are. Or when they say that jhonny depp is a great actor.

It annoys me if they get facts wrong, but not opinions.

Consider that the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens are in the North, while the Indianapolis Colts are in the South, and that the Dallas Cowboys are in the East, while the St Louis Rams were in the West, and one stops looking for reality.
I think the fact that the events of the OK Corral haven't even been close in about a million movies is bad enough. No one cares any more, but what's most annoying is when a movie tries to make 19th century characters appear to be kids who have watched 1970s movies and played video games, that's even more annoying.
It's worst when "character" credibility is affected. I admire Chuck Conners for being able to swallow his pride as star of THE RIFLEMAN enough to play his character so that he made fun of his son when his son predicted future technology. It irritates me that writers try to make their heroes too super in everything, and incapable of being "incorrect".
That said, it does make me groan when idiots make gambling movies that are totally the opposite of reality, and when one looks at the reality, one can't deny it. For instance, some movie makers try to state that Vegas, book makers, and the mob like to beat favorites. There is no such thing as a bookie who would rather pay his bettors 65 dollars instead of 3 dollars apiece. It doesn't happen in the real world. You can always tell amateurs because they believe a fixed race is one that pays off high. That is impossible in reality, because people don't fix races unless they are laying loads of money down on their "fix". A fixed race cannot possibly wind up with a win payoff of over 12.00, if only because the "fixers" will see the odds and continue to keep laying on thousands of dollars more. A fixed event cannot possibly be a "long shot payoff" by definition.
But the absolute worst annoyance is also the most dangerous for people to believe if they watch it. The continual idea in movies and in certain TV shows (I think Rockford was the worst at it), in which the hero or heroine allows himself to be kidnapped in the middle of a hundred witnesses, without making a sound and acting like nothing is wrong, and letting the kidnappers take them bound to a secluded area of their choice, and there the hero expects to make some move or "con" job. Don't try this in real life, people. If people have it in mind to point guns at you, they are more likely to kill you with no witnesses, so at least make them have to deal with witnesses, trials, and such. Been there, done that.

Isn't it? cuz somebody I know actually said that.
Edit, I obviously meant to say, that they said, the reboot is no worse than GB 2. Which is of course, so incorrect.

Oh fuck off, both of you. OPINIONS can NEVER be WRONG! What if someone thinks that the reboot of ghostbusters is no worse than GB2? Then they would be wrong.

I think many would claim a random a-lister like Johnny Depp is a 'great actor' because I think when you look at major name actors they tend to stand above a large percentage of others in that they got a stronger screen presence than many others which I could easily see someone considering Johnny Depp as a 'great actor' by this standard. because as I have said before around here... a persons overall screen presence is paramount as while range can be nice it's not as important as overall presence is. but with that said... I think the OP is basically confusing 'fact' with 'opinion'. because technically you disagreeing with the people who think Johnny Depp is a great actor or that Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is not a great movie is basically your opinion, not a fact. but one thing I think is pretty much a fact, that someone might technically say is my opinion, is that I think most people ultimately judge a movies worth based on how interesting it for them to watch (and the movies they re-watch here and there as the years pass etc) as once you remove that from the equation movies are mostly pointless. so while that might be technically my opinion, I consider it pretty much a fact (or damn close to it) because I think that's at the very heart of why people watch movies in general as to deny this basically makes movies largely pointless which is why I just assume that 'fact' in how I perceive movies in general. sure, what movies are interesting and what are not are clearly opinion based though and that I don't question at all. also, but to be honest... even though I should not, I got to admit I kind of look down on those a bit who can watch that typical dime-a-dozen crap on the major networks like ABC/NBC/CBS (and the like) and enjoy it because once you get used to more quality movie level standards etc that stuff just sucks to sum it up (might be a exception once in a while though). with that said, I am not going to be mean or aggressive towards these people or nothing like that but internally I kind of think like that (with my basic example(not with being mean/aggressive internally but just wonder HOW they can enjoy that stuff)) at times. but then again... it makes me wonder if the reason some people can enjoy that simple stuff is because they might not have been exposed to seeing lots of movies so it's harder for them to see the lack of quality in your typical random comedy variation etc on the major networks. but then again it might simply be some people don't appreciate that more visual/artistic side of movies as for those who don't get into this much it's much easier to see why they might like the very simple dime-a-dozen crap. just some thoughts
