as sad as this is, this goes to show you that PEOPLE NO LONGER KNOW HOW TO EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE WITH THE PUBLIC ANYMORE.
and i mean the passengers.
its a dog does not translate into OUR DOG IS IN THERE!
see the difference?
the other passengers are partially at fault, too. THIS is a good place TO say something and not mind your business. All these people who are now saying they knew a dog was in the carrier should have reiterated that there was a live animal in that carrier.
COMMUNICATE!

I agree. Why didn't they explain their dog was inside?

What exactly were the passengers asked?

What exactly were the passengers asked? Do you have to be asked to do the right thing? Huh? I believe I usually catch on and do it without anyone asking, but that has nothing to do with my question or the topic

Huh? I believe I usually catch on and do it without anyone asking, but that has nothing to do with my question or the topic Sure it does. The OP said the passengers on the flight should have spoken up. You asked what the passengers were asked, implying that nobody asked the passengers their opinion on the subject so why should they give one. My question was, do you (we) need to be asked a question to speak up? I'm talking about the passengers who brought the dog to the flight.

I agree. Why didn't they explain their dog was inside? They said that they did mentioned that their dog was inside, but the flight attendant still insisted that they should put their carrier in the overhead bin.

What exactly were the passengers asked? They were not asked anything. Their carrier was apparently in the aisle or blocking the aisle ( idk the stories weren't written particularly well) and the attendant said it had to go overhead because it was blocking the aisle. All the doggy mom said was it's a dog. WTH does that mean? It's like a doctor delivering a baby saying it's a boy!

Actually, they were quoted as saying (only) it's a dog. Technically they didn't say a dog was in there.

All the ones around the doggy mama knew a living animal was inside and they were as mindless as the assholes who sat near Carrie Fisher! They all did and said nothing! They are ALL to blame! Be explicit!

I was asking what question the passengers who brought the dog was asked (and this in response to the first post talking about not knowing how to communicate). and I told you beforehand! they were not asked a question. they were told their carrier could not stay where it was which was apparently in the aisle [the reports are not written effectively -- see what I mean about communication?] their response for 'this has to go up in the overhead' was its a dog. its a dog. like a obgyn delivering a baby saying its a boy. this does not get the message across that a LIVE ANIMAL is in a carrier this flight attendant is trying to shove into an overhead compartment. at no point did anyone start screaming A LIVE ANIMAL IS IN THERE! see? and everyone else who knew [at some point it started yapping and barking] said jack shit that there was a dog in there. how can any animal parent be okay with shoving an animal into an overhead compartment? really? you make sure the FA knows what is going on!

No, I was watching Inside Edition where they were being interviewed in person, and they CLEARLY did stated to the flight attendant that "there's a dog in there". This is a video of them being interviewed on CBS Morning.
