If God is so all-powerful, why does he need a day off?
And what does the Bible say he did on the eighth, ninth, and tenth day?

There is no eight, ninth or tenth day. There are only 7 days in a week. You do know that right ?
God did not need a rest he just felt like resting,

I am no Biblical scholar, however I doubt whether each of the first few weeks were recorded specifically. The answer to your first point, is so that from time immemorial all Christians have had a seven day week with Sunday off as a day of rest. Neat, eh? To quote Maxwell Smart! "Good thinking 99"!

Just jumping head first into the shallow end of the stupid pool... ain'tcha?... How do you jump 'head first'? Well... technically all jumps are head first. I suppose I shoulda used the word "diving"

This is a common mistake so I'm not going to pick on you for this one. The seventh day (the Sabbath) is Saturday as recognized by Jewish sects. Sabbath literally means Saturday. Most, not all, Christian sects recognize the first day of the week, Sunday, as the day of rest due to Jesus supposedly rising from the dead on a Sunday. There are still Christian sects that recognize the actual Sabbath, Saturday, as the day of rest and hold services on Saturday. Among these are the Seventh Day Adventists.

Just so you know, in future. ( Don't try this at home )

I was aware of the Jewish and 7th day Adventists thing having lived in an area with many of its adherents. My comment was general. Thanks for clarifying.

The rest day hasn't ended. Cool answer. Are you implying as a creationist that the work was completed? (if you are)

Nice for some, though I suppose if you make up the rules you may as well have the cushiest job! I guess this also explains the lack of helping people over the millennia? I guess he can't be arsed!

Because he wanted to admire and reflect on the work he did in the same way a sculptor would take a rest and admire his work after he was done with hours of painstaking work. I guess that would be the best reason I could come up with if I did Christian apologetics.

If God is permanently 'resting' who is omniscient, omnipresent and that other Omni thing (present?)and who is running the show? I'm not sure that the word "rest" is meant as "taking a nap"... or meant to imply that He got tired and needed to catch his breath. It's the creation story: Day 1, God made this... Day 2, God made that... Day 3, yada yada yada.. on Day 7, He rested. As in "On Day Seven, he stopped creating things"... Think of it as a "rest" in music... It's not that you're taking a break during the rest marks... It's just that those are the moments that you don't play notes.

That is a rather lovely way of thinking of it, however, according to CooGJS, he has given up playing any/many notes since. I think he has dropped the ball.

In relation to what the days represented, a lot has happened on this seventh day.
