Happy 87th Birthday Eunice Gayson !!! Born on March 17, 1931 in Purley, Surrey, England Thanks for everything, so far... Eunice Gayson is name every James Bondian ought to know since she played James Bond's girlfriend (Sylvia Trench) in the first two James Bond movies. She started her acting career very early, at age 7 she made her movie debut in My Brother Jonathan 1948, and she also acted on early British live TV in the late 1940s. Besides the Bond movies her most well known movies might be the first Carry on movie and The Revenge of Frankenstein 1958. She was originally sought for the role of Miss Moneypenny, but she ended up playing Sylvia Trench, James Bond's girlfriend, a character that was dropped, for some reason or other, after the first two Bond movies. After the Bond movies she mainly acted on television and on the theatre, including playing the Baroness at Palace Theatre in London in The Sound of Music 1961 and Into the Woods 1990. Out of the Clouds 1955, an Ealing drama about commercial aircraft. Dance Little Lady 1954 with Terence Morgan. Carry on Admiral 1957, the very first of the Carry on films. The Revenge of Frankenstein 1958, the second movie in Hammer's Frankenstein series. Dr No 1962, with Sean Connery From Russia with Love 1963, with Sean Connery Eunice Gayson has acted in over 50 movie and television productions.

Severely underrated. I always found her more attractive than a good number of the later Bond girls.

Severely underrated. I always found her more attractive than a good number of the later Bond girls. As do I. I desperately wish Saltzman and Broccoli had kept to the original concept of having her as Bond’s regular girlfriend until he’s called away for a new adventure. While the gag would have gotten tiresome after a while, it definitely could have gone on longer than it did (only two movies!), especially as she herself was very lovely, and quite a good actress too (judging, I should qualify, only from the Bonds and Revenge of Frankenstein). Thanks for the tribute thread, teleadm, and happy birthday, Miss Gayson!
