Happy 103rd Birthday Patricia Morison !!! Born on March 19, 1915 in New York City. Thanks for everything... retired since 1992. Retired American stage and film actress and mezzo-soprano singer. She made her feature film debut in 1939 after several years on the stage. She was lauded as a beauty with large eyes and extremely long, dark hair. During this period of her career, she was often cast as the femme fatale or "other woman". It was only when she returned to the Broadway stage that she achieved her greatest success as the lead in the original production of Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate. From a television verson of Kiss Me Kate 1958 A publicity photo from 1939, the year she made her feature movie debut, but she had made a short in 1935 named Wreckless. Publicity shot for Untamed 1940, with Ray Milland. First villainess role in Romance on the Rio Grande 1941, with Cesar Romero the Cisco Kid movie series. As Empress Eugénie in The Song of Bernadette 1943. Resting between shooting Dressed to Kill 1946, with Rasil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. Tarzan and the Huntress 1947, with Johnny Weissmuller. The Prince of Thieves 1947, a Robin Hood adventure with Jon Hall and Michael Duane. After Sofia 1948 she concentrated on television and theatre until Song Without End 1960. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Morison performed on stage numerous times — largely in stock and touring productions. These included both musical and dramatic plays, among them Milk and Honey, Kismet, The Merry Widow, Song of Norway, Do I Hear a Waltz?, Bell, Book and Candle, The Fourposter, Separate Tables, and Private Lives. 1958 TV, but she made the role already back in 1948. 1971, reprising the role she played back in 1950s both on Broadway and in London. Just saw her in "Song of the Thin Man" a few days ago, thinkng she should have played the singer portrayed by Gloria Grahame.
