It’s been a while since I’ve seen it spiderwort but one such classic production that comes to mind is The Guns Of Fort Petticoat. This one also features the lovely Kathryn Grant (Aka, Mrs Bing Crosby). And Audie Murphy is always a crowd pleaser in anything that he’s in. Edit: I initially misunderstood the title of this topic, and thought that you were looking for films that were about working with women. I will leave it for now, but will delete it upon your request.

Ann Harding An actress of great sensitivity, intelligence and unaffected elegance, Harding portrayed a collection of "working girls" and "career women" (pardon the anachronistic terminology) in the early-mid '30s. Devotion (1931) - Governess - In disguise, she hires on to care for the child of the barrister (Leslie Howard) with whom she's smitten (a plot to which Mrs. Doubtfire may owe a little something). The Animal Kingdom (1932) - Artist - Author Leslie Howard finds himself longing to escape a stifling marriage to Myrna Loy and reunite with former lover Harding. The Right To Romance (1933) - Doctor - Plastic surgeon Harding finds marriage to playboy Robert Young interfering with her career, and vice-versa. The Life Of Vergie Winters (1934) - Millinery designer/merchant - Her relationship with a married politician (John Boles) defies small-town conventions and becomes a threat to his professional ascendance. Biography Of A Bachelor Girl (1935) - Artist/Author - Globetrotting playgirl Harding is approached by editor Robert Montgomery for her unvarnished autobiography, bringing erstwhile paramour and now-Senate-candidate Edward Everett Horton back into her life. The Flame Within (1935) - Psychiatrist - Harding finds herself unprofessionally attracted to patient Louis Hayward while staving off suitor Herbert Marshall, who offers marriage on the condition she abandon her career.

Upon closer examination spiderwort I’ve decided that it does fit into this category, so I will leave it. It’s about a group of women that stand in as temporary fighting troops at a fort while the men are away at war, so they do qualify as working women.
