In the 1941 Fritz Lang film MAN HUNT, there is a sewing machine prominently displayed in Joan Bennett's London flat to suggest that she's just an innocent seamstress instead of her obvious profession of a street walker.

In Fiddler On The Roof the tailor obtains a sewing machine and a great hubbub is made over it, symbolizing as it does the modern world coming to the village.

Dr. Zhivago? Isn't there a scene with a seamstress/clothing place? My memory may be faulty.
I was going to say the Hudsucker Proxy "he's such a nice man I will give him the double stitch pants anyway" but I think it was hand sewn.

Pretty sure there are sewing machines in Save the Tiger and Gomorrah, both of which show clothes-making businesses.

In Carrie (1952) the title character leaves her small hometown for the fiendish pit of degrading sin and soul-destroying iniquity -- that is, Chicago -- and goes to work on a sweatshop sewing machine. Couldn't find a still of that, but I did see this pic of Jennifer Jones at home in 1955:

The first one that came to mind was Selina Kyle sewing her Catwoman costume in Batman Returns (1992).

The 1947 film The Perils of Pauline includes the song "The Sewing Machine," sung by Betty Hutton.

My warped brain immediately thought of Buffalo Bill making his woman suit in The Silence of the Lambs (1991):
