Christianity commands its followers not to worship false idols or in other words not to worship invented gods, but only to worship the One True God. And it has a vested interest in promoted that message - don't want people going to the competition, do they? But this does raise two questions in my mind:
We sometimes hear people claim that the followers of other religions are in fact praising the same god as the Christian's god, it's just in a different guise. How do you know and doesn't that contradict what the Bible is telling you?
And the false gods that are referred to in the Bible have exactly the same amount of evidence behind them as the Christian god. So how can Christians be so confident that their god isn't in fact one of the "false idols"?

Hence the admonishment against false prophets.

Maybe this will come as news to you and maybe not, but false gods are not necessarily invented. I for one believe they were existent supernatural beings who conned people into worshipping them, and it probably still goes on today. Didn't the Pharaoh's court wizard call on them to turn a stick into a snake? Or was that just something they did for the movie? To answer your question, it's just an inner feeling that we have which convinces us.

It's obviously difficult enough for many people to figure out what their own religion means without the complications of trying to understand others from very different cultures. Some people however find that other cultures and religions help them understand it all. Your understanding of religion, at least as it appears on the internet, is not developed enough for you to be judging anything quite yet.

OpiateOfTheMasses Nope, there is only one true God. Yahweh. Allah has nothing to do with the Judeo-Christian God.
