Jeff Smith and Daniel Webster, definitely, and if we’re basing it on how good the character is rather than how much we like the character, Claude Rains’s Sen. Joseph Paine from Mr. Smith as well.
If we’re going with modern-day film senators, I liked Holly Hunter’s senator in Batman v Superman. She didn’t get much screen time, though, unfortunately…
