I had a bad Good Friday. I dropped one of my cameras (Vivitar CV35) and it broke. On the plus side I got to visit the lookout at Dandenong Ranges National Park, which I photographed using a different camera (Hanimex 110 IF, which as the name suggests takes the 110 film format).

My Easter plans just got a bit better. FilmStruck - the streaming service that combines the TCM Select collection with the Criterion film library - added the 1925 & 1959 versions of BEN-HUR and the silent and talkie versions of KING OF KINGS. That ought to take today and tomorrow to get through. FilmStruck offers a 14 day free trial. There best deal is $99 for one year. If you are a classic movie fan, you won't find a better deal on line. You can browse their collection before subscribing. I watch the films on my iPad, but my housemate watches it on Roku. The prints are excellent.

teleadmWoke up this morning to see about 5 inches of snow on the ground. VERY pretty ! BUT snow in almost April ~ argh ! These are what are traditionally called Easter Lilies here : I planted a whole bushel of your Easter Lilies (our daffodils) a few years ago and they have taken over a whole section of the garden and many have been transplanted out in the orchard. They won't bloom until May though. The crocuses will bloom in late April (Hope the snow is gone by then ! )

And to you as well, Mr. Tele.
Currently sitting in a pew in an empty St Patrick's Church awaiting the start of Easter Mass. Lady Garth insisted on arriving extra early so we wouldn't have to stand during the entire service. So now we have the best seats in the House of God.
The only drawback -- the Seven Little Garths are getting restless. I may even have to surrender my own coloring book to keep them occupied.
