How did he break his leg? Wow-I remember Frann from the 80s. Martin broke his leg while filming TNOT Avaricious Actuary. He tripped over a rifle he had thrown as it hit a wall and bounced back in his path.

Martin’s double was always Bob Herron. You can always tell when Herron is used. He is left handed, therefore throws punches with his left hand. Herron is still kicking, will be 96 on September 23rd.

He tripped over a rifle he had thrown as it hit a wall and bounced back in his path. "TNOT Avaricious Actuary" was filmed before "TNOT Juggernaut" but didn't air until eight episodes later. For this season in particular, the air date order and the production order are very different for reasons we'll get into later.

"The Night of the Sedgewick Curse"This episode is an exercise in old-school horror, in the same vein (no pun intended) as Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I did remember going in what the titular "Sedgewick Curse" was, and how this story ends. It's an excellent episode, but IMO does not quite achieve all-time classic status. Some thoughts:

“ Starting at 9:30 there is a stunt where Jim has to run and jump on a stampeding horse. I watched the stunt in slow motion, and I'm still not sure if Robert Conrad did it or not.”
It looks like Conrad to me, but yes it is hard to tell.
“But what I don't understand is why Artie playacted drinking the drugged water. Was this solely for the TV audience? Or did Artie suspect the hotel staff was spying on him?“
Audience.

I think you're right. This part of the episode is scored as if Artie actually drank the water, so the intent seems to be to fool the TV audience.
