With the Roseanne revival premiering big on ABC it got me thinking what other older sitcoms could realistically be revived. Some I thought of were...
Cheers - Most of the cast is still around and acting
Friends - I know the cast has been resistant, but if they really wanted to they could do it
Seinfeld - Same situation as Friends
The Nanny - I feel like they could do a good continuation with this show
Married with Children - similar series to Roseanne. Cast is still around and acting
Malcom in the Middle - I believe the cast said they would be interested, and I would love to see Bryan Cranston in a comedy series again

Grace Under Fire was a pretty good show, but I don't know if the cast would be all that eager to reunite after their experiences on the show the first time around.

I'd kind of like to see a Family Matters revival. I think there is a good chance the cast would be up for it too.

I'm not really keen on this whole trend. I mean it's not anything bad, but you can argue that it's unnecessary. Why bother to revive these shows besides to revive fading careers and to make money? I mean if you're a fan I'm sure you'll get some kick out of it, but I don't think you'll be able to relive the past fully.

We'd love to see our favorite shows come back,. Though we'd have to see some people coming out from the woodwork.

Though not really a sitcom, I think a "Buffy" revival with the original cast could still work. They could at least do a miniseries, like they did with "Gilmore Girls."

I think they should make new sitcoms and not bring back old once.

Friends - i think they did the right thing to be resistant. it has a big thing to do with not only cast being willing but also having the storylines M.A.K.E. S.E.N.S.E. Is joey going to still be a womanizer one night stand bit [ish] actor now being a dirty old man? is Ross still a bumbling genius? is Monica still anorexic and neurotic? do monica and chandler have custody of their twins? srsly, they should not have been parents. Seinfeld - i also think they did the right thing to step away when they did. and again, picking up on a storyline a decade or two later, it depends on what you started with. i don't want to see nearing 60 year olds still being bumbling single people navigating the dating scene in nyc. no boutros boutros golly for me. The Nanny - ... may...be... idk. although i miss the show its time has passed. Married with Children - er... no. Malcom in the Middle - idk. i mean, when we left the series Lois was again, pregnant. and they were very upset over it. i only wish all the kids were eventually able to do 'whatever they excelled in or made them happy.' this was apparently not the show's or lois's intent.

It's all about the money. With the successes of W&G and Roseanne, expect to see more revivals. And if most of the original cast is available, if they're well-written and produced, why not?

Titus. It was ended prematurely.
All those other series had some fantastic runs.

Frasier is a show I'd love to see comeback. I think they talked about it, but the actor who played the father recently passed away. They said they wouldn’t want to do the show without him. Instead I still think a Cheers rival could work and they can bring Frasier guest stars on.

Yep, it’s ultimately about money. Broadcast tv is fading and the execs are gonna do whatever they can to keep their network a float. If revivals continue to bring good ratings I would expect more of them.

I could definitely see a lot of potential materials for TV revivals of Family Matters and Friends if it were to happen. I would also throw in a That's 70s Show revival too (as That 90s/00s Show or somewhere along those lines). I also get your sentiments on that one in some ways too.

A mistake I think. most American sitcoms in particular seem to go on far too long as it is. I have given up on most of them about three seasons before they end. six seasons is about the limit.

I kind of wish the cast of 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' would get together as a 'reunion' special, maybe taking place 'after Mary's funeral'. If done correctly, it would be a beautiful tribute by her surviving friends Rhoda, Phyllis, Sue Ann, Lou, Murray and Georgette - reuniting in Minneapolis. Maybe even Rhoda's sister Brenda could have joined in as well.
