Many episodes of the X-Files come to mind. One of my favourites from when I watched the show as a teen was 'Blood', I loved the concept, it's very rewatchable and the ending was perfect. I could go on listing episodes of this show. Many episodes of 'The New Twilight Zone' (the 80's series) are also great, as are the original episodes, but I've watched more of the 80's version. A standout episode for me was "The Cold Equations". You can watch it on YouTube, other episodes that come to mind are 'Examination Day' and 'Button, Button'.

I love the episode entitled " Home" S4, Ep2

I really enjoyed the Firefly episode 'Out of Gas'. Yes, the story of a ship suffering a catastrophe in space and leaving the crew with only hours of oxygen might not have been the most 'original' story ever, but the fact that the episode managed to not only transition between 'flashbacks' (showing us how the various characters joined the crew), 'near-present flashbacks' (showing what led up to the catastrophe) and 'the present' (showing everything that happened after the catastrophe), but also keep the entire thing coherent, was quite the feat, I thought.

Ahh fellow Browncoat yes Out of gas was great but I think they ran it out of order.

Bad Blood is probably my favorite X-Files episode.
But if I had to pick just one SF episode of all tv, I would go with City on the Edge of Forever.

The X-Files episode Jose Chung's From Outer Space is the best episode of any hour long TV show EVER. As trite as I now this will sound, it's so perfect it transcends TV.
Any X-Files written by Darin Morgan is brilliant though.

This. First one that came to mind. Fantastic episode. I loved the comedic element to Firefly but they really nailed the drama in this episode. [Cue rant about how it should never have been cancelled and Fox are a bunch of morons.]
