Sure we can stream classic music videos from someone's beat up vhs tape on Youtube, but why doesn't iTunes or Amazon.com sell downloads or streams of classic 80s and 90s music videos in HD? It seems like a no brainer to me.

Sounds like it would either be super expensive or impossible.

Sounds like it would either be super expensive or impossible. Why would it be any less possible than audio downloads and streaming? Has anyone ever cared enough about music videos to make it viable? Sure, there's been some iconic ones, but most are run of the mill. The important piece is the music, not the visuals.

After digging deeper, I've discovered that iTunes does have many 80s and 90s videos, so this is already a thing. They even have video sales charts and Motley Crue, The Cars and Def Leppard videos are selling well. Cool! www.apple.com/itunes/charts/music-videos/

No, pretty much everything is now available on remastered 24 bit if you know where to look. Are you talking about torrents? No, direct download sites exist, but obviously it is not to be encouraged to illegally download anything. I have never used a torrent in my life as you are allowing uploading at the same time which is certainly illegal. With direct downloading the illegality is certainly more cloudy as it's the person providing the download link that would be breaking the law far more than the person downloading it.

It turns out iTunes selection is very limited, also you are limited by devices with them. Amazon.com needs to step up and sell HD music video downloads. They sell everything else.
