I saw this when it first aired on TV when I was a kid. I remember it being quite dull. I guess these made for tv movies, never made it big enough to go into a whole entire season of episodes?

It was probably the network's intention to have a weekly TV series, and there was even a sequel, Captain America II: Death Too Soon. But yeah, a TV show never materialized. There have been occasions where these types of made-for-TV movies do successfully spin off a TV series. It worked for The Incredible Hulk.

I knew very little about these Captain America films, other than that some Swedish company released it as part of a two DVD set known as Marvel Classics Vol. 1 and 2: Not sure about how most of todays audience of the big monster budget and CGI dominated Marvel films, would think of these titles, but there is a certain fun and charm of these older b-movies, even though I already seen and own several DVD copies of both Howard the Duck and The Punisher, it was the rest of the films, which got me into buying both of the volumes. I guess the Captain America films with Reb Brown were put together and re-released with no mention of being tv-movies, but I am kind of looking forward to the Hulk films and hopefully Captain America II: Death To Soon might be a bit more fun than the first one.

A thief steals million in cash from a mob boss played by Vinnie Jones. But Jones's wife joins the thief to get away from her terrible husband. Very generic and forgetable action thriller. I have seen worse though.

3/10Antonio Banderas tries to help a young girl have a better life but his boss (Kate Bosworth) abducts her for sex trafficking. This kind of thing was done far better in Taxi Driver.

9/10While Begins did not hold up on multiple viewings The Dark Knight very much does. A outstanding, entertaining and very thrilling Batman film. Heath Ledger is fantastic as The Joker. However while most of the film is great the ending (Batman taking the blame on himself) still makes no sense. Great film just about ruined by a lousy last 3 minutes.

South Beach (1993) Interesting cast. Any good? A good, committed cast, is the main real reason to stick with it. Fred Williamson (doing his best Mike Hammer impersonation) and Peter Fonda were an amusing duo. The fun interactions make up for the messy plot, clunky action and odd tone. It’s a strange beast, but decent enough for a cheap, straight-to-video fare. Sleazy dialogues, busy twists upon twists, women falling head over heals and noir shades in the Miami sun and neon nightlife. It’s comedic, but when it tries to be serious it can be unintentionally humorous. Especially the threatening phone calls from a crazy nut job harassing a sex hotline. Whose unhealthy obsession with one lady, Vanity. After one of her work colleagues is killed, she seeks help from her ex-husband, former football player now private investigator: Fred Williamson. Things then get a lot more complicated. It’s obvious who was making the phone calls, even just going by their voice. But this job doesn’t wrap up as easy.

Navy SEAL's need to transport a prisoner off a CIA black site but get trapped and cornered by a group of terrorists. All done is one long shot. Well done overall. Lots of action.

5/10A real mixed bag here. Here are my pluses and minuses. + Bane. Tom Hardy is very good as Bane and the look is very cool. + The Plot. I like the idea of Gotham being taken over. + Action is solid. + Pretty entertaining. - Anne Hatheway as Catwoman. Shes so forgettable and dull in the role. - Batman trysing Batman while after being set up makes no sense. - Batman returning to Gotham from being stranded on the other side of the world. - Alfred abandoning Bruce Wayne. I hated that. Where did he go even? - Batman quitting for many years. I know that happens in the Frank Miller comic, but I did not like it in movie form. - Batman quitting forever. He was hardly Batman and the film says hes ready to retire already. - The whole ending. Surviving a mass expulsion while stabbed. Batman turns into the Flash apparently while swimming. This take on Batman was supposed to be more realistic, but a horrible impossible ending is thrown in.

I watched the 5 Underworld films. I see the first two before but 3,4 and 5 were new to me. Basically the were alright. I did not love them but they were watchable for the most part. I love Kate Beckinsale though. Shes a total badass and seriously gorgeous. Best to Worst. Underworld - Easily the best. Underworld: Evolution - Solid. Underworld: Blood Wars - Fine. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans - Like the story but pretty boring. Underworld: Awakening - Kinda dull. Kinda generic.

10/10Re watched one of my favorite superhero films. I liked it even more seeing The Ultimate Edition. Ben Affleck still surprised me how great he is at playing Batman. Hes the best since Keaton.

After watching McQ (1973) the other day. I was curious to see John Wayne’s other cop feature he did around the same time; Brannigan (1975). Less somber compared to McQ, with plenty of energy (despite its aging star) and scattered humour. Good support, and location photography when it came to staging the action. The plot might be by-the-numbers (American cop heads to London to track an escaped gangster and gets on the nerves of Scotland Yard due to his use of policing methods), but Wayne’s presence keeps it moving along.
