I cant believe how high the score is on RT. Currently I would rate it as a weak 4. Few chuckles but the plot is MORONIC and the comedy weak.
What did everyone else think?

Ike Barinholtz was the funniest thing I thought about the trailer.

I have no interest in seeing it. Comedy is prolly my least favorite genre and from the looks of it, Blockets appears to be the embodiment of why I can’t stsnd the genre these days.

Yeah, I was pretty baffled at the good RT score for this shitty looking comedy . The trailer did nothing for me.
Good comedies are pretty hard to come by these days it would seem.

Ike Barinholtz was the funniest thing I thought about the trailer. and he is the best/funniest thing in the movie. i guess i had higher hopes due to the RT ratings and the fact it was Seth Rogen produced…

I had to look this one up. AFAIC Seth Rogan is a one trick pony. There's only so much you can do with his kind of comedy. He's best playing in movies by other people where he's the asshole sidekick.

Because you're not a reviewer who Rotten Tomatoes compiles their reviews from. Based on the trailers, this movie stunk the same way I thought the 21 Jump Street movies stunk based on those trailers- and that got critical raves, too.

To be fair comedies dont always work with everyone, for example I think The Hangover is garbage, but everyone I know loved it.

We need more experimental comedies ala Wes Anderson.

When I finally got around to seeing this on video, I actually posted on FB something along the lines of "So I'm 45 minutes into The Hangover...this is supposed to be a comedy, right?"

I normally understand why the RT score is what it is but here I am really puzzled. Is it because it involved mixed race couples and some gay characters? i don't know anymore. the movie really sucks a lot.
