Probably the most fun out of all the Star Trek films.

So many good lines, perfect deliveries, they must have had fun making it.

I like it more than I used to. I still find the whole whale stuff silly but it does give the movie an excuse to have the crew put in some very funny situations. I enjoyed that part of it.
And there was a point in the movie where they had to re-crystallize dilithium crystals and they needed photons to do that and those were not available in the 23rd century but they were in 20th century nuclear wessels? High energy photons not available in the 23rd century? I really wish they had either abandoned this or made something more plausible.

After doing two serious installments, it was a wise decision to make a more light-hearted adventure. It's one of the best Trek films.
I love the whole "fish out of water" aspect of the story and both Shatner and Nimoy pull off the comedic bits brilliantly.
