That sounds more like Jessica than Trish. Jessica is the exact opposite of sanctimonious. And who was she jealous of? I'm not even sure she made anyone's life worse, compared to Trish who:
-broke a perfectly great guy's heart for no reason -pushed Malcolm, a recovering junkie, back into drugs -broke Jessica and Malcolm's friendship apart -drove the scientist to suicide -drove Jessica's mom to breaking out of prison as a result -got the female cop killed as a result of that -then ended her reign of terror by shooting Jessica's mom in the face right in front of Jessica
All while sitting on the highest of horses.
Oh my goodness. It has been a while since I watched Jessica Jones. I cannot remember. I will either have to go back and watch it or . . . Jessica was selfish, self-destructive, anti-social and ultimately irresponsible and wreckless. Trish was wanting to be a super hero with the ability to make a difference. Simply based on attitude, Trish was superior. I honestly do not remember her doing all those things you are accusing her of. If those things are true, it could be a case of you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. I never said Trish was perfect. I only said she was better than Jessica.

I didn't particularly have a problem with her until they started bringing her to the forefront. I've now seen episode 5 and I'm not liking this season much. Plus, per one of your posts, Jessica is never whiny; Trish is.

As opposed to Jessica's negative, depressed, self destructive, cynical malaise. In seasons 1 & 2 Trish looked good. This season she doesn't look as good. First of all, there seem to be many more scenes with her not wearing makeup (shiny face, red nose). And two, I don't know, maybe the actress is battling a drug or alcohol problem. She just doesn't look as good. (Her skin color. She seems more skinny and boney.) If I remember correctly, episode 8 was really stupid (in my opinion). But it got better from there. I think this is the final season. If so, the finale of Jessica Jones was better than the finale of Dexter and Game of Thrones. So, if you hang in there, that's something to look forward to.

I agree with you about Trish's looks - maybe she does have some kind of addiction problem. Her 'go get 'em' attitude is what caused so many problems - she rushes in without thinking ahead. I have just finished episode 7 so when I see 8 I'll let you know if I have changed my mind or not.

I think the look in season three for Trish was intentional. She is an addict. She is addicted to her powers. She also has a lot of emotional problems this season and her look definitely fits her character.
I know I will be in the huge minority here, but I think season three is the best season. It was fantastic from beginning to end. Most of these Netflix Marvel shows drag near the end because of the 13 episodes. I never got that here. I was hooked throughout. One thing I like about this show is how non-descript and not PC it is. The show stars two females playing superheroes and it is never really a focal point. The show is written where you can replace both of them with guys and it would be exactly the same, pretty much. I love that. Everyone is just a well written character and it does not matter what race or sex they are. I feel the same way with the sexual relationships. Jessica's assistant is a transgender but no one cares. It is never highlighted. She is just a fun side character. Hogarth and Detective Artie Boukou are both gay, yet their relationships are treated just like straight relationships. There is never some cringeworthy SJW PC scene making it a focal point like every other show does today. This show is a perfect example of how all shows should be written today in my opinion. Just have great characters doing normal character things. Their race, sex, and sexuality do not matter.

If so, the finale of Jessica Jones was better than the finale of Dexter and Game of Thrones. So, if you hang in there, that's something to look forward to. So you like Trish's attitude although all that actually was is Trish's desire for power and control, as we saw last season and we saw this season, Trish wanted the power because she wanted to conform the world to her desires, she acted out of a false sense of righteousness, to a degree I get Trish maybe becoming that after as we learned in S2 that she was raped or atleast molested in some way as a child actor by some producer or director, but that doesn't justify her behaviour or attitude, she killed Jess's mother because she was made to feel powerless and that was her only way to not feel that way anymore, she simply tried to hide behind the "she was a murderer" when clearly that wasn't why Trish did it, same reason she does everything else, to make herself feel more powerful, which is why she pushed Jess to be a hero, because being the one pushing Jess to do so made her feel powerful, but now because she has powers herself she doesn't really care, now it's fine for Jess to do nothing because Trish is doing shit, even though she knows multiple other heroes in NY are doing shit also, except them being heroes didn't make Trish feel powerful or important so they didn't count.
Keep in mind why Jess feels the way she does, she gained her powers the same time she lost her family, she tried doing the hero thing but it didn't work out, she has been almost killed just for the fact she has powers, and she was kidnapped, mind controlled, repeatedly raped, used as a plaything and as a murder weapon for months possibly more...she has issues and no wonder why, and unlike Trish she's a realist, she gets the severity of her life, Trish doesn't, Jess recognises where the lines are, she crosses them for a reason and it's not for her own gain, Trish only thinks about herself, this is pretty obvious when she murdered Jess's mother right infront of Jess and in a way where she could have just as easily killed Jess by mistake...Trish is a fucking WAFFLE imo.
Edit: Good show though and season, loved it every time Jess put Trish in her place when she tried stepping to her, that first time in the alley was fucking funny.

Just have great characters doing normal character things. Their race, sex, and sexuality do not matter. That's a good point about the Trish character having personal and addiction problems. As with many TV web series, I cannot remember seasons 1 & 2. Its been so long, I cannot compare to season 3. But I don't remember anything that would lead me to disagree. I agree season 3 wasn't a nosedive like Dexter, Game of Thrones and many other web series. But I felt episode 8 was stupid, although it picked up again from there. As a straight guy I am tired of every movie and TV show insisting on having members of the LGBTQ community in a higher percentage than the actual statistical percentage of the population. But you are correct, I don't remember any gay kissing, hugging or sex scenes. What happened to that transgender assistant/secretary character? She just seemed to disappear all of a sudden. I have no problem with two female superheroes. I liked Captain Marvel But I agree, I liked Captain Marvel because her character was written well. Not because she was female. But I disagree, their characters could have been replaced with male characters. They would have to be rewritten. Because Trish and Jessica talk about stuff from the female perspective. Which I liked. More interesting and new than the overdone male perspective.

SPOILERS !!! I liked Trish's attitude in seasons 1 & 2. But I don't think her attitude is was got her in trouble in season 3. I think her going overboard and deciding to kill all bad people --- who are not even guilty of murder --- is what got her in trouble. She probably could have gotten away with just killing the serial killer. But then she wanted to just kill everybody, and that was obviously going too far. (That and wanting attention, instead of just staying in the shadows.)

Jessica Jones is a boring snoozefest of a show. Watching paint dry is more entertaining than watching Jessica Jones.

She really does wear those jeans. The only time I remember her not wearing those jeans was at Trish's mother's funeral. (Or when she was naked.)
