Popeye Doyle did something just like this on Film General. I'll be doing the same but with just horror movies instead. Unfortunately, I've only seen two horror films from this decade: Psycho and Rosemary's Baby, so my picks are less than the needed amount.

Last year (Summer 2017) My Lovely Wife and I got the opportunity to visit the villages of Bodega Bay and Bodega in northern California where "The Birds" was set and most of the exteriors shot. We stopped in at the Bodega Bay visitors' center where they had location maps all printed. After I asked, the volunteer said that of all the groups - families, etc. - that stopped in, one-third of the visitors ask about "Birds" locations. 54 years after its release, that is how iconic and memorable this film still is.

Not an easy job, as I do not think I have seen that many from the 60s, and I guess some of my picks are probably more suited in the crime/thriller genre. However, IMDb has some of them listed as Horror, so it is what is:
Psycho (1960) The Birds (1963) Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969) Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966)
Oh well, that went "well". Only 4 films that I can think of which I have rated above 5/10, but at least they are what I like to consider very good/great movies and lies somewhere around the rating of 7/10-8/10.
