I... think ...this has been debunked, but I am not sure...
Again... I... think ...this has been debunked
I've never heard of this before...
But why sink a passenger liner out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean before WWI!
I doubt this....
I believe this to be the "Mystery Ship" ... (SEE BELOW)
Yes, Yes... Titanic was really the Olympic... NOT!
This has been debunked time and time again...
Titanic wasn't exactly identical to her sister ship Olympic, and they would have had to alter the appearance of both ships...
Even if it were possible to physically alter both ships with out people noticing... It would have taken some time to do this, and it would never have been kept a secret by so many involved.
Overly-complicated is right.
No, he didn't sail the iceberg into the path of the Titanic to murder some people. Enough Said!
..............................
As for the "Mystery Ship"... I believe it is one of two possibilities...
1.) I have read somewhere that there may have been a third ship, possibly a fishing or whaling vessel in the area that night. But it left the area without helping Titanic for some reason...
So THREE ships just happened to be in the exact same place in the "middle of nowhere" in the open sea at the exact same time on this night of horrific tragedy?
I doubt this...
2.) The Titanic & The Californian actually saw each other, but didn't realize that they were closer to each other than they thought they were.
FACT... Most people don't know, that shortly after Titanic hit the Iceberg... Titanic left the crash site, and sailed on, at "slow ahead", for about ten minutes.
She probably was sailing towards the North, coincidentally, towards the Californian.
FACT... When it was learned that the forward motion was forcing the water into the ship, causing it to flood faster... The engines were turned off, and the ship drifted to a halt.
With the currents flowing south, it may be possible, that Titanic, came close to the Californian... and then drifted back South, away from her... Assuming the Californian remained stationary.
Given the fact, most people on the ship were a sleep at the time of the collision, & all of the confusion and tragedy that happened later that night... It quite possible many Eye-Witnesses were mistaken about what they really saw, what they knew, and what they remembered... Especially if they did not realize that Titanic had been "on the move"!
I have to wonder if maybe the ship's movement after the collision wasn't factored in to the ship's location coordinates were they were broadcast in the SOS Distress calls... It could at least partially explain why it took so long to find the wreck...
FYI... It seems there was a cover up after all... As one of the surviving officers has said...
The Helmsman, was initially confused by his orders, and turned the wheel the wrong way, towards the Iceberg, and then just seconds later, the mistake was realized and then the helmsman turned the wheel in the correct direction, to steer the ship away from the iceberg...
Those few seconds might have been just enough time to allow the ship to turn sooner, and avoid the collision...
It was decided to keep that secret, as blaming the Helmsman after the accident, would not have changed anything.
Turning the ship the wrong way... & The ship sailing on... Were never portrayed in James Cameron's Film, or any of the other films, as far as I know.
Much of this knowledge has just come to light in recent years.
