It's one of the few Pixar movies I haven't seen...
What say you?

You know what? I’ve always loved it. 8/10 for me. It seems to get a lot of hate but I thought it had plenty of heart.

rather a let down after monsters, inc. which I really REALLY enjoyed
it seemed "forced" as in "let us go and make another $$$ making sequel because it worked for toy story"
but you may like it so give it the old whirl

For a prequel to the first film, I thought it was good 7/10.

7/10. It's not as good or emotional as Monsters, Inc.. The movie is heavily reliant on college movie cliches but given a "monsters" take on it. That said, the ending was unexpected and really improved the film.

It's a pretty generic 6/10 until a touching and somber ending scene, which bumps it up to a 7.
My biggest complaint with this movie has to be Mike. In Monsters Inc., he's a good monster with a good heart, but he wasn't exactly a Boy Scout. In this, he's not the same sarcastic and unknowingly-and-lovingly-selfish little monster that made me love his character so much in the original. To me it was just not consistent at all.

I didn't like it. I thought it was too much for kids. I guess I've been spoiled by the adult-friendly animated movies of the 2000s.

7/10, not better than the original, but it's still a good movie and it gets more hate than it deserves.

I've seen bits and pieces of it on television. It's harmless.

Finally saw it last night.
Very disappointing.
Acts One and Two were cliche ridden and juvenile without the slightest hint of cleverness. It didn't feel at all like a Pixar movie.
Act Three was excellent, but too little too late. The cabin scene was particularly great. It made me wish this had been the premise of a sequel: Mike and Sully in the real world needing to scare adults for some reason.

7/10 Not as good as Inc, but a pretty good prequel nonetheless.
