Not bad. Kind of predictable, but I don't mind the aging on the mask. At least it doesn't look like the beaten up one from Zombie's movies.

What's with the Lincoln pose? He gonna free the slaves then kill them or something?

Michael looks tired. The franchise looks tired. Hard to argue against that, but I do think this one has potential to actually be something interesting.

Gosh I hope that's just artwork and not the mask they actually use.

Gosh I hope that's just artwork and not the mask they actually use. I saw an article two or three weeks ago with the makeup artist who said that he had been studying the effects of decades of age on latex and masks and stuff to prepare for the movie. That says to me that this is probably the mask they're using, and that in the context of the plot it's the same mask from the first movie that he either still had somehow or found again.

I'd say after 40 years it would look a darn sight worse than that.......or would have perished completely. I had one from 1988 that I looked after diligently but sadly it still decayed after about 20 years.

Still intact, preserved it would seem, but still aged and beaten up. Not exactly in the same way as the one on this poster, but still.

I've seen the hero mask in person. The guy from the article lives in the same town as me. Its sad that it deteriorated as much as it has, but it was still cool to see. To me its the holy grail of horror.

A latex mask from 1978 would be unwearable today. It would have become stiff and shrunken. Like a dried up green pepper.
As a poster gimmick fine but totally impossible unless they claim it is demon-enchanted or something.
They said they considered using a clown mask(the one from the start of the movie I assume) for the Shape and that it did look weird and creepy. That was probably made of plastic. It would still be intact today if they had.

I gotta say, as much as I am looking forward to the movie, I am not a fan of the mask on this poster. The eyeholes are what get me. Plus, I wish they went for the more classic approach with the smoother white mask. It looks a bit cracked, like in RZ's adaptations. Not bad, just a bit out of place.

The latex thinned and just perished forming holes in some places and areas so thin in others, that you could see though it when held up to the light. If I'd attempted to pull it over my head at that stage, it would have ripped right open. I have this awful feeling they're going to expect us to believe that this is the same mask Myers wore back in '78, still in commission in 2018!

This guy I know says it is possible a 70s era latex mask could last but this was presumably an off the shelf one right? They also spray painted it white I think? I also am skeptical they would have kept it after the first movie. Between 78 and 80 is a long time for a rubber mask, sitting around...I dunno. anyway I read about this guy who had a gorilla mask used in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and all he had left after the decades was an ear.
