Angel
Bram Stokers Dracula
Buffy The Vampire Slayer

then when 2008 rolled around we had
the twilight saga

the vampire craze has to be GOOD. tru blood was good but it DID get tiring after a while. racist tara who was just itching to quit a job whenever a white person would complain about her treatment of them... cmon! we're supposed to be on HER side? SHE is sookie's only friend?

btw, just saw Grave Of The Vampire(1972), its pretty good That has a funny scene where the vampire goes into a library and the librarian starts coming on to him--he thinks his powers are working on her, then she tells him to leave and he (and the viewer) has this "wtf is the matter with you?" reaction.

Zombies are in now. What's the next supernatural creature that will take their place when that fad has been overdone?

What's the next supernatural creature that will take their place when that fad has been overdone? the zombie craze is slowly being replaced by the superhero/comic book craze. a better question is whats gonna replace the Superhero Craze when Marvel has no more Avengers storys to adapt or when DC can no longer rely on solo movies of Batman and Superman to bring in box office cash $$$

No. There are a number of vampire movies in development now and an upcoming TV show that has vampires in it and I don't think they will ever stop having vampires in Horror movies 'cause they are very popular just like zombies, witches, demons, monsters and werewolves and writing will keep writing about them.

Star Wars will probably be the next craze, and soon enough we'll get multiple films a year

Antone Fuqua (I probably spelled his name wrong, I'm sorry) mentioned in a recent interview, that he wants to tackle a comic book character. One of the chief ones on his list- Morbius the Living Vampire. That'd be something I could see a studio seeing as gold, Super Hero Movie + Vampire Movie = easy money. The studio might see that equation. Not saying I agree, just that it is something I could see happening in a board room, "Yeah, Mr.Smith we should totally do a vampire/comic book hybrid! I can smell the blockbuster now!".
