Let's match the TDK trilogy's generally considered worst entry vs. the DCEU's generally considered best movie. Which movie do you think is better and why?

TDKR is better than any DCEU or MCU movie. Yeah I'd agree with that. Movie had excellent direction, was in an epic scale without needing a dozen other heroes, was pretty intense from start to finish, relied mostly on practical effects, memorable quotes and scenes and a really good villain. The thing I most disliked about it was how Bane was quickly thrown aside after the plot twist.

Controversial opinion, but TDKR is awful. The worst in the trilogy. Wonder Woman on the other hand was very good.

Wonder Woman because it's a hailed milestone movie and the only CBM being respectful of the great war without trivializing it too much.
The Dark Knight rises is great movie too, it's just more of the "same" formula we got served before. Artistically speaking, it was the least necessary of the trilogy and felt like a commercial encore to wind the trilogy down.

I prefer Wonder Woman over TDKR. TDKR was convoluted and poorly written. Batman Begins is my favorite of the Nolan Trilogy.

Wonder Woman. TDKR had a better villain (until the 3rd act) but Wonder Woman made better use of its 3 act structure. The mid section is action packed and permits interaction and development between Diana, Steve Trevor, and even some of the side characters. TDKR, the more I look back on it, is kind of boring after Bane takes over and Batman is stuck in that prison pit.

TDKR by far.

Wonder Woman. I might even go so far as to say I like it more than Batman Begins, but TDKR is a given. Always found it disappointing.
As for the villain comparison in this thread, I think Ares should be compared to Talia rather than Bane, in which case he wins for me.

WW by far. WW had better characters and a better cast though I did like the villain better in TDKR.

Easily The Dark Knight Rises, but I like both movies.

As for the villain comparison in this thread, I think Ares should be compared to Talia rather than Bane, in which case he wins for me. I always roll my eyes when people compare villains who are based on different writing concepts.
Ares was a mystery-reveal & concept villain. WW fought the concept of war itself and had to realize that it cannot be attributed to single leaders/gods, but is caused by duality of human nature. Something "no hero can defeat".
A creative and sophisticated approach.

Pretty much sums it up. That final battle isn't about Ares, it's about Diana. Some say they should have gone the extra mile and had Ares not exist at all, which I wouldn't have minded, but we saw how well the comic book community responded to the Mandarin twist. Wonder Woman basically had its cake and ate it too by depicting Ares as real, but altering him enough to retain the film's themes.

Wonder Woman was a lot better, and I love Christopher Nolan's work.
