I saw that at the theater when it came out, unfortunately I was sitting in front of a bunch of young kids who kept talking... I haven't watched it since, but I found it entertaining enough. Standard Emmerich, you know what your in for if you watch an Emmerich movie.

Yep, what's also cool is the National Television System Committee established the black and white TV system all the way back in 1941. With color being added to the system in 1950. A single fluctuating voltage is all that is required to relay a full color picture. That system of TV is still around in some parts of the world, and was only turned of in the states recently. It made it just over 60 years without being changed. Analog TV is one of the major electrical engineering accomplishments of the 20th century IMO, I still find it technically amazing today. I'm not sure about the latest generation, but the previous gen of games consoles (PS3/XBOX-360/WII) can output analog NTSC (a 60 year old protocol). Joke for those who are interested in this kind of thing: NTSC = Never The Same Color.

As soon as I saw the title, I thought of Big Daddy (even though I haven't seen that movie in 10+ years), and although it's been 20-ish years since I last watched it, I'm pretty sure Richie Rich has a McDonalds in his house or something. I think one of his friends sais something like 'Cool, you have a McDonalds in your house!'. That could be wrong though, it's been a long, long time.

Any other Dennis Hopper fans here? I really miss Dennis Hopper, he was in many movies I enjoyed growing up. He has a one-of-a-kind voice, very distinct, a real trademark. I can't really explain why, but I just really like watching him in movies, I've seldom seen many actors with such a presence on screen.

Lois and Clark for me. I watched it all the time when it was originally airing, and I really enjoyed it. It could just be that I was younger then, but the characters seemed to have a good chemistry with each other. For the time, the plots were also very creative. John Shea was a geat Lex Luthor IMO.

I would like to see a 6th FD movie. The series is a guilty pleasure of mine, with the 3rd being my favourite. My ranking of those movies: FD3 - My favourite 'disaster' with the roller coaster (also the DVD has the best special features/director's commentary IMO), also Mary Elizabeth Winstead is probably the best actress (next to Ali Larter) to appear in a FD movie. FD - I remember this being good, but I rewatched it recently and I think the formula was perfected in 3. FD5 - Has some of the best deaths of the entire series. I also enjoyed the ending. FD2 - Some very creative deaths, I don't why but this one never really clicked with me as much as the ones above it, although I love the ladder scene. FD4 - Haven't seen it since release, I remember it being OK.

10-15 years ago, I was frequently buying VHS tapes from flea markets and thrift stores. I never really bought them from the net, because the postage cost made it too expensive. I picked up some great stuff back then. I carried on doing that for a while and adding to the ones that I'd been purchasing when VHS was mainstream, I have many 100's of tapes now. But over time they started disappearing from the flea markets and second hand stores. I've been repairing VHS players since I was kid, (it's surprisingly easy to fix the common problems with them), but it was just getting too hard to find the tapes cheap enough. I noticed that on eBay the pricing+postage was not that far from Laserdisc so I took the plunge and bought an entry-level LD player. VHS and LD are both watched on my Trinitron, because analog video looks so much better than on my LCD...
I more or less buy 1 LD every month, but I don't like using the player much because I don't want to put too much wear on it... In terms of DVD, I purchase those quite frequently now, they've kind of taken place of VHS because they're so cheap now. Although the quality of some releases (particularly the 2000 release of Final Destination - one I've noticed recently) look really bad on LCD, but much better on CRT. MPEG-2 is quite old now and digital artifacts are annoying to watch, but some DVD's (e.g. Saw 2) look very watchable. I watch my DVD's on my Trinitron via RGB. I also buy all my TV shows on DVD - amazing value for money IMO.
I only own a handful of Blu-Rays. Netflix is what I spend most of my time watching though, convenient, and for the money, really good quality IMO. Although I only really use Netflix for TV shows, serious movie fans will have either seen or must be willing to drop standards to get through Netflix's catalogue of movies.

I also thought of Logan's Run when I saw the title. haha.
From the guy that directed Wolverine... I'm going to predict this will be slightly above average. The 'R' rating being the justification for that.

Lynda Carter for me. After watching re-runs of Wonder Woman for years, I finally bought the entire series on DVD. I love that show.
