Pearl Harbor, it's not perfect and depending on how you want to view it you can pick it to pieces. But if you watch it purely as entertainment it really isn't too bad.

I suppose there's a difference between not getting enough love and getting hate bombed. There's a bunch of films from the 90s that I love but nobody else did: Jennifer Eight, Anaconda, Bodies, Rest & Motion, Two Girls and a Guy, Joe Versus the Volcano, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, Random Hearts.
I think Martian maybe got more hate than it deserved. I liked it, but what's his name can be a little off-putting. A lot of people didn't appreciate the lack of panic.

On the topic of Tarantino, I also felt a lot of people hated on Jackie Brown when it was released. I had a similar reaction in that it just didn't seem to hit the lofty heights of Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs. On further viewings, however, it really is quite brilliant. Great dialogue and fantastic performances from Grier, Jackson and Forster. Definitely an underrated gem. The Hateful Eight as well doesn't get the recognition it deserves in my opinion. I've heard people say it was too long and boring but I disagree entirely. Probably my best ever cinema experience and my second favourite Tarantino movie after Pulp Fiction. Batman Vs Superman another one I find people to be overcritical about. Not without it's fault and I really thing the extended version makes it a much more linear story. Ben Affleck's Batman allowed me to overlook most of it's shortcomings, this was also a fun cinema experience for me. IMO, i think Tarentino is heading in the Kurosawa direction: more dialogue, more in-depth characters with personalities & development, & thus longer films. People who claim they get bored, sadly the majority, probably have a hard time paying attention without loud noises & flashing lights to distract them from their own banality. Hateful Eight actually gave every one of the characters a chance to shine, how many directors know how to do that?

The Star Wars prequels Hey, that's the question you asked. The prequels definitely don't deserve the amount of hate that they are getting. And the hate has increased after the release of the pathetic "The Force Awakens". Wrong on both counts - certainly the second. The Force Awakens has prompted some (misguided) people to re-evaluate and be kinder to the prequels. "At least they were original" is one of the mantras; "At least they reflect George Lucas's personal vision" is another. To those of us sensible people who don't care about whether or not a film is original or to what extent it represents so-and-so-whom-we've-never-met's personal vision, but only care about whether or not a film is any good, this defence of the prequels - and pitching into the wonderful film The Force Awakens - is rather hard to understand.

I thought Superman vs. Batman was a pretty good movie, and it certainly held my attention. But the critics savaged it. Don't know why.

Star Trek: Beyond gets a lot of heat but i think it's easily the best of the rebooted Treks, one of the best of the entire franchise.
i am one of the few who loved Sucker Punch.

Rob Zombie films.
I also thought Spring Breakers got too much hate. I made my dad watch it thinking he would hate it because it's not really his type of move, but he actually enjoyed it.

What a childish response. No doubt from a fanboy of TFA. Telling other people that their comments are "wrong". It's not an arithmetic problem that can be graded as right or wrong. Hah! People who don't care if a film is good or not but like it anyway because the majority do are not called sensible but sheeple! Like you! TFA was enjoyed by kids and adults with low IQ, and since you belong to one of those groups I'm not going to bother trying to point out the ridiculousness TFA.

I thought Superman vs. Batman was a pretty good movie, and it certainly held my attention. But the critics savaged it. Don't know why. Yes BVS got plenty of hate. I defended it on IMDb for a while but the board was too chaotic to have a decent discussion imo. Another movie with plenty of hate was Watchmen. As a fan of the graphic novel I thought the film worked pretty well. BB ;-)

Toy Story 2 is usually considered the weakest of the trilogy. However, I personally find it to be the best of the trilogy. I don't understand when people say its boring. Personally, it's the only movie of the trilogy that I don't get bored with. I still like the other two movies, but this was the one that had the best flow for the plot, in my opinion.
