Wow, for the last few weeks all the reports have been talking about narrowing polls and a too-close-to-call vote. Now the exit poll is saying it's gonna be around 70-30!
Wonderful news - well done to Ireland!

Wonderful news - well done to Ireland! I really don't want to sound condescending in any way, because it is meant as a compliment, butt to me the Irish ( mainly those who are Catholics butt not exclusively) are a nation who are able to attempt to reconcile their restrictive religion and diversity of religion with a modern lifestyle, as they seem to be an empathetic, pragmatic people (with a wonderful sense of humour which always helps). Historically, they have suffered many ills in this world, from the potato famine, mass emigration breaking up families, 'the troubles' , recent economic hardship and now, they just seem to want peace, prosperity and community. The Catholic Church as a whole can learn from them IMHO.

One of life’s mysteries how so many of you leftist weirdos, who usually piss and moan over some of the most trivial human “injustices” , view freedom of abortion(legalised murder of the most innocent amongst us) somehow as a “progressive” thing. I mean imagine celebrating the prospective murders of more pre-born babies...

How many of you anti-choice Neanderthals file citizenship papers for fetuses? Or death certificates for miscarriages?
Your actual behavior shows whether the issue is really about the humanity of fetuses, or about controlling women's bodies. And in in the long run, it sure as fuck isn't about the humanity of fetuses.

Completely irrelevant. How many times does it have to be explained to you deranged leftist fucking idiots? I believe women should be free to do whatever the fuck she wants to do with her body, PROVIDING it doesn’t harm another human. What part of she should not be free to kill/murder/execute/terminate another human being do you fools not understand, faustus5 ?

Animals aren't persons. Therefore neither are "innocent". You have avoided the question whether you are a vegetarian. I am not surprised.

Actually, it is entirely relevant. By your behavior, you clowns clearly demonstrate that you don't regard fetal tissue as having all the legal and moral significance of a born human being. If you did, every miscarriage would get a funeral and a death certificate. It is all about controlling women. You aren't fooling anyone.

Lad you know fuck all about my country. Ireland stopped giving a damn about religion a long time ago. Abortion stops organisms from enjoying the pleasures of life. Ireland is becoming a liberal shithole sadly.

How a socialist like yourself can oppose the inherent Individualism of capitalism but support the inherent individualism of an abortion regime is beyond me. People who say "their body, their choice" are no different to the people who say "their business, their choice" to justify injustices forced upon the working class.

Your moral and legal illiteracy are both duly noted.

Firstly, who the fuck made you the arbitrator of when a human being is a person? Secondly, do you seriously believe a human should only have the right to live unless they are considered a person?

Secondly, do you seriously believe a human should only have the right to live unless they are considered a person? I believe that an entity which is a person or at one point was a person has a right to existence. Details about the implementation are a matter of ethics.

I believe women should be free to do whatever the fuck she wants to do with her body, PROVIDING it doesn’t harm another human. What part of she should not be free to kill/murder/execute/terminate another human being do you fools not understand, faustus5 ? @cody. If we may be adult and civil to each other for a moment, I would like to try to explain something to you, which may help. Pro-life people like yourself have very much a black and white argument on abortion. Pro-choice people have a shades of grey argument. ( and I am pro-choice and not pro-abortion as I don't like the idea and would never have one myself as it took me 8 pregnancies to get my 3 live healthy babies so 5 miscarriages...so in a sense I feel qualified to have an informed opinion) The shades of grey part is important because this is where there is disagreement. Religious people tend to think that from conception that a foetus somehow has a soul and hence IS a person. ( I prefer this term to human as yes, a foetus has 'human' DNA and the potential to become a 'person, on a sliding scale of time.) Others, the pro-choice crowd don't share this view, alternatively taking a more 'scientific' approach to the biology of a developing foetus from a fertilized egg through all the developmental stages of growth to become a person, which can survive on its own outside the mother. I call this a kind of sliding scale. In my opinion the way it works is that when weighing up the efficacy of having an abortion, one should look at cost/benefit situation. That sounds rather harsh so let me explain. 1.Let's say in the very early weeks and in fact, this is when nature does the aborting with miscarriages, it is reasonable to say that the cost to the foetus is minimal and the benefit to the mother, greatest. If you treat each week of development on that basis with the cost of the foetus increasing and the benefit to the mother decreasing, you will come to my view on abortion. Both scientifically and practically, a foetus cannot sustain life outside the womb, so it is only a 'potential' person. I would advocate for ONLY early term abortions. 12 weeks. Then we hit the grey area of mid term and any decision should be made on a case by case basis and women are aware of the decreasing benefit to them of aborting a more developed child (physically and mentally and emotionally) and such abortions should ONLY be for the critical health benefit of the mother and/or the fact that a baby might be critically abnormal. Late term abortions should be TOTALLY restricted to extreme cases and in fact should preferably be induced births. 2. Just because I don't like the idea, it does not give me the moral justification to impose my views on other women. As I have said there is a discrepancy in the religious view and the secular. Each side should be respectful of the other. Any kind of roadside coercion outside abortion clinics is as reprehensible as you see abortion. I hope this helps you understand why there are separate and each reasonable views on abortion. I understand that you think that God creates life at conception butt this is not a view that is shared universally, and other people have rights to a more scientific and pragmatic view which takes many things into account in making what is always a difficult decision for any woman.

Lad you know fuck all about my country. Ireland stopped giving a damn about religion a long time ago. Abortion stops organisms from enjoying the pleasures of life. Ireland is becoming a liberal shithole sadly. If Ireland stopped caring about religion a long time ago, abortion wouldn't still be illegal in 2018. No organism is deprived of "enjoying the pleasures of life" by an abortion (well, maybe the father if he wanted the child to be born, I suppose). Aborting the foetus ensures that it will never need the pleasures of life and thus can never be deprived of them. Not entirely surprising that you turned out to be a religious fanatic, I have to say.
