There's been a couple of threads about how this board is dying from lack of activity. I've done my part to keep the discussion going with a couple of threads. But 1 thread (asking why Tony Stark spied on a high school kid instead of recruiting Luke Cage to fight against Cap and Bucky) was locked for apparently no reason and the other thread ( Why did Infinity War ignore the ending of SMH? ) didn't receive any response from MCU fans here. But nevertheless, I'll keep the discussion going by posting my review of The Defenders, which I just got around to watching this week. The best part of The Defenders was Stick getting impaled by Elektra. Stick was an arrogant and obnoxious asshole and he finally got what he deserved. That was the best part of The Defenders. Unfotunately, that was the only good part of The Defenders. I have always been unbiased and objective and fair, as proven by the fact that I've said many times that other than Jessica Jones (which was just really boring and crappy), the other Netflix series ( Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) aren't bad. But The Defenders is pretty bad. Not as bad as Jessica Jones and Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD but still pretty bad. 1st, they keep saying that the Hand was trying to destroy New York city. How the fuck does the Hand finding a bunch of dinosaur bones in a hole under 1 building pose a threat that would destroy New York city? 2nd, MCU movies constantly portray the government as corrupt and the military or law enforcement as incompetent. Sadly, The Defenders follows that same pattern. Matt Murdoch, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones were being held in for questioning an NYPD station after they were found unconscious next to Stick's corpse and another headless body (which Stick decapitated). Then Foggy Nelson sneaks a duffel bag containing the Daredevil suit into the station and gives it to Murdoch. WTF? Foggy Nelson sneaks a duffel bag into an NYPD station and gives it to a guy being held for questioning about the deaths of 2 people, yet the cops don't even search the duffle bag before letting Nelson give it Murdoch? And after they stole C4 from an NYPD evidence room and blow up the building and the building collapses, the cops just let them all walk away without any charges and come up with a bullshit story about bad construction on the building? So the NYPD are so corrupt that they made up a bullshit story to cover up several major crimes? When a high-rise buidling in New York city is blown up and collapses, it's not just the NYPD who'll investigate. DHS and FBI are also going to investigate for possible terrorism. There'll also be plenty of rescue workers digging through the wreckage looking for survivors or victims. And every major news network is going to be on the scene. They're going to see the bodies of the dead Hand members being brought out from the wreckage. There's just no way that the NYPD can simply say it was bad construction. And worst of all, the invincible Matt Murdoch somehow survives a high-rise buidling collapsing on top of him. And he seems to be recovering in a convent. Wasn't he wearing his Daredevil costume when the building collapsed on him? What happened to his Daredevil costume? Why didn't the nun who was there just call the paramedics to take Murdcoh to a hospital instead of taking Murdoch to the convent? And why would nuns even help a vigilante killer dressed like Satan?

Yeah I have no idea why that was locked.

You seem to think MCU movies are real life. You talk about/ask questions about the characters like they exist in real life. Is Tony Stark a pedophile? Do you really think the creators would have made one of their heroes a pedophile? The character was created to be a good guy and a hero, why the fuck would he be a pedophile? Unless you don’t think the character was created but is actually real. That honestly seems to be the case. I hate to break it to you, but Tony Stark is a fictional hero/good guy character, so he can’t be a pedophile.

So basically, you loved the show and you hope Marvel will produce ten more seasons? Hee hee hee… That is indeed the big question. If DC-Fan thinks that most Marvel movies and TV shows are boring and crappy, why does he keep watching them? As far as I know, nobody is forcing him to watch anything. Here are the only answers to this apparent enigma that I can dream up: 1. He is a professional film and television critic for a major publication, and he was (much against his will) assigned to cover everything Marvel-related that exists. Odds that this is the real answer? 1/10 2. He has been kidnapped by a homicidal lunatic, who has locked him in an inaccessible chamber, threatening him and explaining that he cannot escape until he watches everything Marvel-related that exists. He will, in fact, escape, one day and will sell his memoirs, which critics call a cross of Saw and Mystery Science Theater 3000, to make millions. The film adaptation will be directed by Steven Spielberg and star Tom Cruise as DC-Fan. Odds that this is the real answer? 3/10 3. He is the Archangel Gabriel, sent from On High to warn us about the terrors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will destroy all civilization as we know it for some reason we cannot yet fathom. Odds that this is the real answer? .5/10 4. He is the Atticus Finch of film-criticism, with a firm moral sense that the Marvel movies are ruining Cinema (with a capital C). He is conscientious, honest, and fair, and he watches these movies to take the pain on himself. For that matter, he may also be Jesus, taking upon himself the sins of the world. Cross-reference with Option 3 and let the Heavenly Choirs duke it out among themselves. Odds? Non-existent. 5. He is a troll. Odds? 7/10 6. He secretly loves the Marvel movies and TV shows but feels guilty about it for unknown reasons, so he attempts to assuage the guilt by lambasting everything Marvel-related that exists. Odds? 9.99/10 Cross-reference with Option 5.

Even though you are a troll and/or have terrible taste in movies and television, I will still bite. Hilariously, I forget most of this. I watched The Defenders the first weekend, but it was very forgettable. In fact, with the last 3-4 episodes of Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and then this, I would say that the Netflix Marvel shows are losing their touch. Daredevil is the best superhero show ever made. Jessica Jones is one of them. It is a 9/10 show. That is why this downturn is so sad. Still, Jessica Jones Season two was great and I am hoping the trend continues with the second season of Luke Cage.
I want to ask you, do you comb over the Arrowverse this much? I watch it and enjoy it, especially Arrow, but it is cheesy as heck with more bad writing and acting than any Netflix Marvel show easily.

Well, MCU made Steve Rogers an accessory to murder and a tyrant so why do you think it's not possible that MCU would make Tony Stark a pedophile. MCU has Tony Stark spying on a 15-year-old kid and kidnapping that 15-year-old kid and transporting him out of the country under false pretenses.

Odds? 9.99/10 Cross-reference with Option 5. As highly amusing as those choices are, there is another possibility. As an established, hardcore fan of DC comic books and characters, it must be painful to watch the rapid ascension of Marvel IP in the popular culture. DC-Fan is going to extraordinary lengths to "prove" that fictional characters are turncoats, sexual deviants, and misanthropes. This is akin to putting Peter Rabbit or Alice of Wonderland on trial for crimes against humanity. Even if these charges had merit, anyone with moderate intelligence would understand that you can't take legal action on a fictional character for their alleged crimes. The writers, producers, and directors would be the ones to blame if characterizations fail to meet a certain standard but, conspicuously, none are named in the plaintiff's complaint. For his agenda to succeed, it is very important that DC-Fan vilify the characters directly and frequently. It's a simple calculus. Marvel characters continue to grow in notoriety and the public at large is deeply invested in their saga across multiple media. How does one thwart that? Well, you need two things; a platform (conveniently provided here by sympathetic overlords) and a sustained campaign designed to render the characters themselves as undesirable or somehow unworthy of the attention they constantly receive. DC-Fan also has a third dubious asset - a fan base of similarly inclined malcontents. They are those who would debase themselves and serve under his psychotic banner in the vain hope of winning a war they don't comprehend and are ill-equipped to prosecute. Many here mistakenly believe that a battle is being fought between studios using popular characters and cinematic universes as their primary weapons. They believe that the goal is to make the best film possible based on some arbitrary IP and crush the competition with critical praise and strong box office receipts. They are sadly mistaken. This is a war for the hearts and minds of generations to come and regardless of the studio producing the stories based on the IP --- Marvel is winning. The so-called strategic blunder Marvel made in pimping out their IP to the sleaziest bidder back in the nineties has proven to be a boon in the twenty-first century. Marvel IP is now produced on a larger scale, more rapidly and in higher quantity than any other comic book publisher in existence. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Deadpool, The New Mutants, Cloak and Dagger and other formerly C-List characters now have a stranglehold on the popular zeitgeist. The "new gods" are replacing the old and their banner is RED. Those who fall on bended knee begging their corporate gods to sabotage the great reunification may actually even get their wish. But, much like the Challengers of The Unkown, they'll be living on borrowed time. The reunification will happen - it is as inevitable as gravity. I personally don't care who the new stewards are so long as they are solvent and competent. After long decades of cinematic dominance by other squalid fandoms (who now lay dead or dying), Marvel has finally prevailed.

After long decades of cinematic dominance by other squalid fandoms (who now lay dead or dying), Marvel has finally prevailed. MCU hasn't prevailed. Remember my thread awhile back comparing Marvel Studios to the "Evil Empire"? Well, everyone knows that the US won the Cold War over the Soviet Union, which Ronald Reagan called the "Evil Empire". But you MCU fans are probably too young to remember that initially the Soviet Union led the US in the Space Race. The Soviets were the first to put an astronaut (or cosmonaut) into space and the Soviet space program was ahead of the NASA initially. But in the end, NASA surpassed the Soviet space program and the US also won the Cold War. That's the same thing that's happening in the CBM industry now. Marvel Studios temporarily has the lead, just like the Soviet Union temporarily had the lead in the Space Race. But the US surpassed the "Evil Empire" Soviet Union, and DCEU will also surpass the "Evil Empire" Marvel Studios.

Thanks for confirming my hypothesis and letting everyone here know you're nothing more than a petty troll. But let's put aside our differences and take a moment to bask in the glow of the new world order. Hush now little one --- take a deep breath and taste the electric air of the future.
