I will admit in terms of quality TDK is better. However I feel Batman Begins was better at capturing the tone and feel of a Batman movie and it was the most comic booky of the Nolan trilogy.

The main difference between these two is that Batman Begins is a good movie and Dark Knight isn't.

Both are great movies but The Dark Knight is a step above.
The villain is much better but also the action sequences are as well. The fighting wasn't done very well in Batman Begins because they zoomed in too much and you couldn't make out what was happening. A problem they fixed for the sequel.
Costume was better and the Rachel Dawes wasn't as annoying.

The Dark Knight is one of the greatest Comic Book films and a blessing that grace the genre. It's a film that show you that a comic book movie can be more than a CGI smorgasbord (X-Men, MCU and DCEU films) or an edgey R rated film filled with blood, sex and violence as well as vulgar language to appeal to teenagers (Deadpool 1&2, Logan, Watchmen 300 and Sin City).
Nolan helped keep the genre from being too stale.

The main difference between these two is that Batman Begins is a good movie and Dark Knight isn't. How can we agree so well on the Justice League thread, but disagree so fundamentally on this?

The Dark Knight by far. I know that Begins is closer to the comics but I just find myself being a bit underwhelmed by the film. I still like it, but TDK holds much closer to my heart.

The Dark Knight by far. I like both, but I have the unpopular opinion that Batman Begins is my least favorite movie of the trilogy.

As good as BB is, TDK surpasses it in every way. Even with being the most Batman-centric Batman film, BB's major claim to fame, his relationship to Joker and Harvey Dent in TDK is more interesting than anything he's got going on in BB in spite of shared spotlight.

How can we agree so well on the Justice League thread, but disagree so fundamentally on this? Shhhh. It's a secret. What is your opinion? Its hands down the best of the three. With BB being decent and TDKR being fine until you think about it. TDK has the best Batman/Joker dichotomy ever illustrated. Sure, it wastes a great Two Face, but Ledger's Joker is amazing. And his lack of traditional "development" helps establish him better than any made up origin.

Batman Begins >>>>> Mask of the Phantasm >>>>> The Dark Knight Will always agree that Mask of the Phantasm is amazing, but I never found anything special about Batman Begins. For me it is equal to the first XMen movie...the groundwork that need to be laid to tell the real story.

For me it is equal to the first XMen movie...the groundwork that need to be laid to tell the real story. Everyone loves the Dark Knight. For my money, it's a hodgepodge of half-baked philosophical ideas and sorted melodrama. I'll give Heath his performance but, other than that; TDK doesn't get me out of bed in the morning. Batman Begins, on the other hand, is a near-perfect amalgam of gothic fantasy, crime thriller, and neo-noir super-hero film. The "Fear Gas" trope in lesser hands could have turned into a Schumacher-level fiasco, but in Nolan's hands, it layers the fantastic onto an already rich and atmospheric world. Even at complete rest, Bale's face projects intensity and purpose instead of slack-jawed confusion and pain. You can almost physically see the moment when the Batman takes over, and Bruce Wayne becomes a flimsy mask that can barley restrain an elemental force.
