The original actor Ron Cephas Jones declined after a scheduling conflict.

Why are we just now hearing about this? The movie finished filming back in May.

Is that the first actor to be in a MCU and DCEU movie?

Is that the first actor to be in a MCU and DCEU movie? Nope. There’s also Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Laurence Fishburne and Randall Park. Edit: I somehow left out Zachary Levi

Yeah right. Just more blackwashing. And Hollywood made a video calling for open borders.
More murder, rape, theft, who cares?

What exactly does a black guy playing a wizard have to do with open borders?

What exactly does a black guy playing a wizard have to do with open borders? Multiculturalism. In the original, the wizard was pale. I don't even think any of the SHAZAM letters refer to someone from Africa.

I really don’t understand what you’re even trying to say. Only white people are allowed to be in movies?

Why does it matter if he’s black? No, really. Why does it matter? Does it matter if the Black Panther is black? Why not make him white and have Wakanda a bunch of blondes?

In Black Panther’s case, him being black actually is relevant to his character. By the way, isn’t the wizard Shazam from Egypt?

Even if Egyptian, making him from lower Africa would be kind of insulting--suggesting everyone in Africa looks the same.

He’s from an African country. With that in mind, why should him being black be a problem?

Because there is a difference racially ancient Egyptians and modern Egyptians and between them and lower Africa. It's insulting to the heritages of the northerners to blackwash their ancestry. Like the recent Iliad BBC series that made Achilles also sub-Saharan African.

I’m pretty sure the ancient Egyptians were generally dark skinned.
