So one year on, I don't know if I'd say it was "there year" in particular but a rebound...yeah I think so. Aquaman received positive years and was their highest grossing movie ever. Shazam got great reviews and was a mild success and now Joker has reviewed great reviews and we'll see how that goes but I expect it'll make a fair bit of money. On the other hand Wonder Woman 1984 was delayed but otherwise they have sort of been three for three so that's definitely an improvement. 2019 has definitely been Marvel’s year.

With Joker alone? I mean Shazam! was incredibly forgettable and Aquaman was nothing to write home about

If DC decides to make a shared universe, they should just make a live action Justice League Unlimited series. Just a string of Justice League movies with a rotating cast of heroes.

Don't think that counts as a shared universe, Police Academy wasn't a shared universe just a film series, also it wouldn't work as a film series without setting up the large roster to begin with, look at Endgame did anyone care about the sorcerers Strange & Wong brought with em? Or any Wakandan outside of T'Challa, Shuri, Okoye & M'Baku?
Would make for a great Live Action TV show though.

Well, in that case the previous DC series wasn't a shared universe either. It had spin-off movies.
You can do it if each movie focused on a different group of heroes. Maybe have some that return. Police Academy had the same characters each movie with some news ones. What I'm saying is totally different than having fodder in the background. I'm talking more like having Superman be the lead of the 1st movie, then he makes a cameo and is said to be off-world in the sequel. Just single movie stories that may have some big Endgame-type "ending" with most, if not all, of the ones that were in movies previously. Plus some additions. Another example could be the Suicide Squad movies where they are a totally different team.

The Joker is getting a good word of mouth and real Oscar buzz. This is the comic movie we may have been waiting for after Logan or TDK. I am very curious about the movie.

None of their movies have sparked serious interest like the Joker seems to be doing. And yet they produced 3 back to back billion dollar plus movies which combined total around $5b, which if you don't count the Deadpool movies is more money than the entire X-Men film series earned over the span of 2 decades, the DCEU barely made more over the last 6 years than the MCU did in the last 6 months.
I mean Joker currently has an average score of 9.09/10 compared to Endgames 8.29/10 to go along with their 94% & 89% tomatometer "scores", Endgames being based on hundreds of reviews whilst Joker's is based off a few dozen, so yeah Joker is scoring higher than Endgame did but juries still out on if it will retain that when more people review it, but even then it doesn't hold the lead by much, less than 10% actually, oh wait let me guess Disney brought off critics right?
Keep in mind Wonder Woman had "serious" Oscar buzz also and didn't get nominated for anything like at all, seems as per usual you are simply implying your opinion as fact and trying to malign the MCU because well you have nothing better to do with your life, sad really, but here's hoping Joker is a hit and does resonate well with fans, there's no downside to it succeeding imo so success is what I am hoping for.

Rotten tomatoes are for pansies. they mean little to movies, less with MCU movies as their completely unwatchable movies still gets 92% on rt. I know this since i never got past the first 20 minutes of the last Thor film. didn't disney manipulate the rotten tomatoes early this year because of captain marvel? when last did the site have any credibility?
Disney movies makes billions of dollars even lion king no one wanted.Endgame is your usual silly mcu movie with lots of stupid jokes and action. That was only fun in avengers 1.
Joker is not wonder woman. Remember Logan and TDK got oscar buzz and some important nominations. MCU pansies are just scared of a real comic book movie like the Joker.

Why the fuck would they be? The MCU has existed throughout he entirety of the modern comic book movie boom where in the likes of The Dark Knight & Logan have come out and been highly well regarded, yet the MCU continues trucking along picking up speed, making more and more money, steamrolling past other film franchises to become the No.1 movie brand out there, it's not MCU fans or pansies, real mature btw, atleast be creative in the insults you decrepit snail's arsehole, but MCU fans do not fear others success because most unlike you get it, other brands doing well means the genre is doing well which means everyone wins including Marvel and that means WE the people get more comic book properties on TV, movies, DCD, video games and the like, which means we get more shit we like.
The only morons who fear movies success are the likes of you who hate the MCU and fear it's ongoing success because it conflicts and undermines your ignorant, arrogant, deluded rat shit and pigeon piss infested bullshit self appointed status as arbiter of what is and is not quality entertainment, guess what fuck knuckle you don't decide that, because you are a mentally deficient wobble schlob whose opinion means as much as a $3 bill in the swiss alps, as in it don't mean diddly dick you moron.
As for RT I dunno if Disney had anything to do with the alterations to fan submission, maybe they did maybe they didn't I dunno, but the point stands yes Joker has a higher average score right now, but Endgame had a high score also, what an idiot like you doesn't get is they are being critiqued by the same recognised people, which you are claiming only idiots can like MCU movies, yet many who like the MCU films liked Joker, but you think Joker is beyond those who like the MCU, your argument is bullshit like most of what you say, I just brought up RT because you made a ignorant claim without proof and I made an informed claim with some, ie get stuffed you dumb inbred sack of snake faeces.

"a real comic book movie like the Joker"? Bro, Joker has almost nothing to do with the comic books, it is so distanced from the source material and so stand alone it could've been easily retitled as something else entirely and eliminating any of the very few nods to DC Comics canon wouldn't have ruined a thing - so says everyone who has seen it for themselves.

didn't disney manipulate the rotten tomatoes early this year because of captain marvel? when last did the site have any credibility? Christ I thought the dumb conspiracy theorists went back into the woodwork. You want a conspiracy theory...The Joker is getting a great RT score...The Joker is a Warner's film...Warner's own a large stake in Fandango/Rotten Tomatoes. Define a "real comic book movie" ? Because you obviously haven't read many comic books, and if you have, only a select minority in comics history that take a "dark" approach. Ooh The Joker...it's so dark. Except he's only been like that in some storylines since the late 80s. Many seem to forget the laughable shite he was in in the previous 50 or so years.

Nah Marvel dominated (with of course End Game & a couple of other billion dollar films like Spiderboy & Captain Marvel) BUT DC will be just fine. Very excited to see the Joker next month.

2019 is definitely DC's year. Joker could not only be the 1st CBM to legitimately be nominated for Best Picture based solely on merit and not on using the race card, but also be the 1st CBM to win Best Picture.
Meanwhile, MCU suffered a huge loss with the departure of their flagship character Spider-Man. Spider-Man leaving MCU is equivalent to Mickey Mouse leaving Disney.
