I wonder what the suit is for?
Also for those in the US, Supergirl will now be on Sundays. I have read some comments on YouTube that shows are sometimes moved to Sundays when they're not doing well or will be cancelled. Is that true? I hope not.

I hope you don't mind but I thought I would also post some other articles I found about 'Supergirl' on your thread for members instead of starting another two threads for them. I heard 'Supergirl' has changed to Sundays and I am now wondering when it is going to air here in Australia 'cause during the first season it aired here on Sunday nights but then moved to Tuesdays and it means you will get a different night for it in your country too. Do you get all the 'Arrowverse' shows where you live and do you get the other shows like 'Gotham', 'Krypton' and 'Black Lightning?' I don't think it is getting cancelled and some people are just overreacting and I have seen heaps and heaps of people say 'Supernatural' was going to get cancelled for years but it kept getting renewed. I am interested over the suit too and maybe that will help her breath in space since she does spend quite a bit of time in space in some of the comic books and maybe this will allow them to do that but she is on the ground there so I am not sure. Did anyone catch Bebo Fevor? Sounds painful, yet mercifully fatal... When this suit was glimpsed in the ComicCon Trailer a few weeks back, I pondered if there's going to be some connection to the Futures End comic that featured a version of Superman wearing a similar looking costume. That superman turned out to be Shazam/Captain Marvel . Ostensibly, at least part of this costume likely plays into Melissa staring in a Broadway production over the summer; and her ran lasted into August. So they didn't even have her right away when pre-production apparently began. Conventionally, it's always been Friday that is supposed to be the "death slot".

I think it maybe CW just branching out, if they can do a sunday timeslot with Supergirl it opens up another night in their schedule, seeing as they only do 2 hours of primetime programming a day they have 1/3 less the slots the other networks do anyway so likely more just a case of this is our No.2 show and the comic shows carry their audiences wherever they go why not try and open up a new night?
Only reason to cancel it would be because WB made an edict to do so or because it's budget far outweighs it's cost, but I doubt that's the case.

Three theories on the suit:
1. It's not Kara and is someone trying to frame her, possibly the Russian version hinted at the end of last season.
2. It's not Kara and they are debuting a female version of Steel, hence the hammer.
3. It's Kara and she needs protection from Liberty because he is using some Kryptonite.

I didn't know that was Mercy in the trailer. I don't think this means we'll see Lex anytime soon, but it could be a sign that Lena will indeed turn into a villain. About that Bebo thing, I don't know if it's a sign of a crossover or just a reference. But I would like to see more characters appear on the other shows, even if it not a full crossover. We don't have Black Lightning and Krypton yet. Well, not legally. But our cable services have Supergirl, Gotham, Arrow, LOT and the Flash. Usually the episodes are aired the same day as the US though delayed by a few hours. So if Supergirl airs Sundays 8PM, it is aired Monday noon here. It is the same day since we are a day ahead of the US. We also have cable channels dedicated to popular US shows so the episodes are replayed several times a week.

I forgot the Arrowverse also had a Bebo. At least he had a better fate.

You're welcome hardball and no, I don't think we will see Lex Luthor appearing in 'Supergirl' anytime soon especially since I heard he is going to be in an episode of 'Titans' and he is also set to be in the 'Metropolis' TV show if that still goes through which I am not sure of now with all the other shows they have been announcing 'cause they have gone completely silent about it since it was revealed it was originally conceived as a 'Smallville' spinoff show with Lois Lane and Oliver Queen instead of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor. I am still not sure about Lena becoming a villain and I think it is possible we might see them hinting at that 'cause it is what a lot of people expect to happen but then going in the opposite direction with Lena finding out Kara is Supergirl and keeping her identity a secret. Miss Teschmacher confuses me 'cause she has a history of being with Lex Luthor and I think it could still turn out she is working for Lex and with his sister not knowing about it and we will find out she is without Lex appearing. What is funny about having her working for Lena is the character was part of the inspiration for Tess Mercer in 'Smallville' and Tess turned out to be Lutessa Lena Luthor in that show but didn't know she was related to Lex.
I think we will see Bebo appear more for sure this season 'cause of his popularity and it is funny how a character who is a plush toy has gone onto become more popular than some of the living and breathing characters in the shows. I am still yet to see 'Black Lightning' and am going to try and watch it but 'Krytpon' was a good show and hopefully you will get a chance to check that out.

Is that Kara wearing the new costume or the evil clone we saw at the end of last season?

I know, right? It's fucking hilarious. Damn you really have some great characters on a tv show when the stuffed toy is more popular than all of them combined.

Is that Kara wearing the new costume or the evil clone we saw at the end of last season? It is Kara. As we saw at the end of this week's episode Kara will have to wear that costume until she gets better by the look of things and I don't see it lasting for too many episodes but now we know why she is wearing it.

It does seem like an odd choice to make, and I'm curious to see what sort of story ramifications it has; because they could have gone any number of routes, but they decided to go with the option that basically completely obscures Melissa Benoist's face, and makes it possible to have pretty much anyone playing the part physically, and she could dub in her voice. That seems like a deliberate choice to make, that makes me wonder if it's to accommodate something behind the scenes; and literally the second after I saw that I did a Google search to see if maybe she was pregnant and this was how they'd hide it without writing her off, but I didn't see anything online.
Mind you, there is her double; so this could just be a way of not having two of her on screen at the same time.

Melissa was just on Broadway for a run, but I assumed it was during the hiatus...it's possible they needed to get a double in the suit to accommodate that... But it seems unlikely she would have been able to duck out on Supergirl filming to do it.

But it seems unlikely she would have been able to duck out on Supergirl filming to do it Yeah, I wondered about that too. If memory serves, her run on Broadway ran sometime into August, and they did have some preliminary footage of the new season before that at ComicCon, but it seemed like they had only just started production (presumably) and hadn't filmed much; which felt like the case with the other shows too. It's not impossible that they shot an episode or two (or three, whatever) without her, then double back to shoot the first few episodes with her, once she returned. But like you said, you would think that anything she committed to elsewhere, including Broadway, would have to give deferential treatment to Supergirl as her first commitment; and the network would say "you're the titular character of this series, which starts shooting the next season on this day; you need to be there." I suppose it's not impossible they gave her some leeway, if the show could reasonably work around her absence, and even include her to a limited degree, but that all just seems so convoluted; rather than coordinating the Broadway schedule better somehow. Other actors have gone and done limited runs on Broadway during a hiatus without it interfering with their production.

Well, that was pointless. It's either to have given her more time for the play; or time off for the crossover...

Yep very crappy episode, the suit was pointless as fuck, they should have just put Supergirl in a box and make her have to stay put, actually make her story be how hard it is for her to stand on the sideline, more compelling to see her struggle with that than Alex's meltdown now she's in charge and acting like a 12 year old imo. Also how exactly is 10% kryptonite pollution a fatal amount to Supergirl when 100% wasn't except with prolonged exposure, and with 10% and shrinking the potency would be lessened and continue to lessen by the second, should have been more that without the suit draining/filtering out the kryptonite in her system and infusing her with higher amounts of solar radiation to promote healing then the K in her system would begin poisoning her again and without the suit there's no way for them to cure her, plus if the suit cant do anything but purify the air and/or her system then why is it fucking armoured? why have the S logo and shit whats the fucking point of it? Such a dumb episode imo, atleast we got Manchester Black he seems like a fun character, enjoyed the digs at the yanks, too bloody right they don't know how to drink proper you tell em MB.

This might just be me, but I though it was odd that solar radiation helped rather than made things worse; because my impression - and again, not based on any specific - but I always thought Kryptonite similarly benefited from yellow sun radiation in the same way Kryptonians were. We know it's still toxic in its own right on Krypton, under their red sun; what with many iterations about life on Krypton depicting some variation of the mysterious "green death," implicating the presence and effects of Kryptonite even before Krypton's destruction. And in some versions of the story, the instability of Krypton's core had to do with the presence of large pockets of Kryptonite (I think). But my take was that its effects followed similar proportion to that of Kryptonians; in that, where Kryponians were relatively weaker under a red sun, the toxic effect of green Kryptonite was muted, at least in contrast to it's more exotically radioactive state when exposed to yellow sun radiation. And I think that might have been an interesting conundrum for Supergirl and the DEO to face, that they first try flooding her system with focused yellow sun radiation, only for it to make it worse, because it's similarly feeding the strength of the Kryptonite. So they end up exposing her to red sun radiation, effectively leaving her powerless, but likewise muting the strength of Kryptonite within that space to a point it could be more easily filtered and protected against.
