He could be put to better use in the MCU.
However, since he had such a bad experience with DC he might not be interested in making superhero films ever again.

Captain Britain....yeah I could see it. Yeah that's what first thing that came to mind when the news broke. I wouldn't be surprised if marvel offered him the role.

Hyperion would be hilarious. Even as a cameo.

He should do more serious roles, or he will be typcast forever. It would also be a downgrade going from playing the biggest Superhero to a no-name Marvel cartoon character in a comedic family-friendly universe.
I'm not sure about TV-Witcher, but he could make it his on. If he wants to remain in genre films, his M:I and Uncle performances were decent, and he is a prime candidate for Bond Nr 7.

After seeing him in Fallout, I actually wonder how he’d fare as a MCU villain? Someone like Taskmaster or such.

I'd say yes if the character didn't need a break so bad. Cavill's hobo look in MOS was pretty much a great Wolverine look: hair, muscles and all. I agree though, Wolverine needs a rest at the moment. Though if they decide to do another Wolverine, Cavill is a decent choice.

Why would he want to go from playing the ultimate A-lister to some D-list MCU jobber?
Unless, of course, he's associated with Spider-Man or the X-Men somehow. Then it's a good idea.

Why would he want to go from playing the ultimate A-lister to some D-list MCU jobber? But it seems recently the DC A-Listers haven't been as good as the Marvel "D-Listers". I thought Cavill was a great Superman. But based on his roles in MI, and to lesser extent Man From UNCLE, I'd happily see him play someone like Captain Britain or Union Jack. Hell, even a new incarnation of Captain America.

It's the New Money aspect of the MCU fandom that makes it so insufferable. Talk to me like... what? Sixty or eighty years from now about whether ANT MAN is an A-lister. As for Cavill, he'd be an idiot to keep doing these types of films at this point.

But he's playing Superman under the DCEU...and so far of the three films he's played Superman (well) he's done 1 interesting yet disappointing film, and two cluster fucks. The "legacy" of Superman means nothing in respect of Cavill while the character is under the watch of the current DCEU. One more Superman film may have changed that, but that seems unlikely and even Cavill may see things may not change. Of course historically Ant-Man won't be bigger than Superman, but at the moment non-A-listers like Iron Man, Doctor Strange, GOTG etc have been better received and appreciated than any of the outings he has had as Superman.

I agree that he could've done a better job as a performer and also been featured more effectively. Yeah, that's just because of a convergence of factors that's making them briefly trendy. I suspect mainstream audiences will eventually outgrow them and then look back on the MCU's height and cringe in the same way fans of the Backstreet Boys or New Kids on the Block would inevitably go on to do. But there was a time when those were the most successful acts in the country. Doesn't mean Backstreet or the New Kids were ever a legit GOOD band taken seriously by anyone over the age of twelve; so it is with these McMarvel movies.

But that's based on how you feel about the films to begin with. There is no cinematic precedence that could indicate that will be the case. There are few franchises that went on for longer than a decade and continued to be successful and are looked upon that way...Bond, Star Wars, X-Men...why should the MCU be different, other than its based on how you feel about them now. But really the MCU cannot be compared to any other franchise before, so who knows how it will be viewed in the future.

I played as a professional drummer for a party band during my late teens to early 20's. We did a plethora of cover songs, anything to make people in a bar happy. We tried to do a cover of Backtreet's Back... man, it was not easy. Way easier to do straight up rock songs from Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, etc. So don't diss boyband music. It may not be your cup of tea but it's definitely not easy.
