Did the score come out?
They've got that Spider-Man animated movie coming out, that looks pretty good.

I agree, Into the Spider-Verse looks as though it might be good but cartoons don't count.

Sony made the first 2 Spider-Man movies, which wee 2 of the best superhero movies ever made. Then MCU got involved and SMH turned out to be the worst Spider-Man movie ever made.

The MCU is trash, and These Kids Today will cringe at it years from now. Socially maladroit dopes who take it seriously, however, will always erroneously and militantly pretend the series is something it isn't, as Nalkarj noted, which is anything resembling serious filmmaking worth the level of discussion, let alone reverence, afforded to these transitory, throwaway, faddish movies that people consume no differently than a Bic Mac.

And the same studio that gave us Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and now Venom which is getting shitty reviews. Homecoming got better reviews than all 3 and is the far superior movie out of all of them.

That’s not what I said, Colden. I was paraphrasing! But my point is, that’s not what I meant, or what I’d ever mean. No matter what Raptor, Norm, or LDM may think, I like these movies.

I've liked all the Spider-man movies to some extent. Even the worst ones. Can't beat Spider-man 2 though.

Sony suits killed off Raimi's Spiderverse with the introduction of Venom and now it looks as though they have shit the bed again. They will be back with their tail between their legs, begging for another deal with the MCU in no time.

Nonsense. Homecoming is literally a forgettable re-reboot and a MCU fanservice mediocrity. This film does not even compare to the original energy and charm of the first Spiderman. What you liked about this is the unnecessary MCU stuff that was forced into it, including that silly Iron-Spider suit robbing the character of his innocent, self-made, low tech hero charm.
/5
Only TASM 2 was worse, yet remarkably not half as forgettable as Homecoming.

I thought the first Amazing Spider-Man was solid. Unoriginal af but a decent starting point. Then part two just came barreling in and throwing everything but the kitchen sink (even if the action scenes were better done and it was more colorful).

I I found Garfield's Spider-Man to be too much of a jerk. His Peter Parker was serviceable but, his wallcrawler had zero charm.

Spiderman 1 and 2 were great but sadly the rest were bad. So yeah, I agree to the OP to an extent. Seems Sony can't keep up with the current superhero fashion without help from the MCU.

It's a hard row to hoe, so I gave Garfield's spidey a pass on that in the first one.(It's something RDJ and Nathan Fillion pull off effortlessly.) It got worse in the second to the point I really didn't like Spiderman. Along with the rest of the problems in the movie (villains, Harry and Pete's very forced relationship, the cramming of Sinister Six, etc etc etc ) add an unlikable Spidey and its just as bad as Spiderman 3.

Before the MCU even started those first two Spider-Man movies were the only ones where they( including Kevin Feige, whom you label as a "dictator") had most creative input.
