I think they're making too big a deal about Harden's baskets being unassisted. He likes to move when he gets the ball. He likes to draw fouls. He's not going to run around trying to get to open spots.

are they going to rally tonight??! Didn't lead in the game till late in the 4th quarter. Somehow we manage to win but it's too difficult being a Houston fan. We don't blowout teams but somehow manage to get past our opponents. Great night for Harden once again.

He's not going to run around trying to get to open spots. I agree with your post. In 2015 for example, Harden was the most efficient player among all players in the league when it came to step back 3s. He isn't much of a catch and shoot guy.
What do you think would be average of Harden at the end of this season? It seems his run will come to end. I believe he will score at 31.5 points for the rest of the season for an average 34.33. I have assumed he will miss 1 of the 33 games that Rockets have to play from here on. Would you like to make a prediction for his season-ending ppg?
Let's compare Harden's 2018-19 with Michael Jordon's 1986-87 season when he scored 37.1 ppg.
Player | Points per game
| FT made/attempted
| 2 point %
| 3 point %
| Effective field goal %
| Harden
| 36.3
| 10.3/11.9
| .525
| .368
| .540
| Jordon
| 37.1
| 10.2/11.9
| .491
| .182
| .484

How's Harden's D lately? He was -24 last night vs Denver. The other starters were -11, -9, -3 (Gordon), -9, and -17 (Tucker). He did have 5 turnovers, shot ok.

His defense has been awesome though Rockets defense has been disgraceful. D'Antoni needs to play a real center. Good that Nene played tonight.
Harden literally had a 40 - 10 - 5 - 5 - 5 game tonight.
Just missed by one block. He had 6 steals, 4 blocks and 12 rebounds to go along with his 43 points. Houston was +31 with him. I think Harden is leading the league in deflections. 3rd in steals. Sadly, they often give him the duty to guard big men of the opposite team.
We got a win after 2 appalling performances. I think we need to adjust to Paul's addition. He was missing today and we were much better. But I think we will be at our best when we will have all our best 3 players on the court

rockets gunna win this @ g. state or not???! I liked the intensity with which we came out today and how we played defense. We made sure that Durant, Curry, and Thompson don't get open 3s and had to attack to get their points. We have had a bad season but can we play some consistent basketball? We got home by 6. 3-0 against the Champs this season. We have a better record this season against teams that are better than .5 than against teams that are worse than .5. We have blown leads so many times. But I am happy how Faried was doing his stuff as PF in this game. So with Capela as center we can finally play someone as PF.
and a word for CP3. He was back to CP3 finally after being CP1 or CP2 for almost the entire season.

NJtoTXSo do you think we can beat OKC in a 7 match series playing on the road or not? I think we will very likely beat Denver on road. Keep in mind that we have not played against OKC with a healthy team this year so far. But it's also a fact that PG13 has improved as a clutch player and makes the big plays for Thunders and thus they are better too. As of now, there is also a big chance that we might have to play Warriors themselves in the 2nd round. As we may finish no.4 or no. 5 seed unless OKC goes on a major losing streak or something.

I don't see why not if Capela is healthy throughout, given how Faried is playing, and they also have Nene. Of course, CP3 has to stay healthy, as well. While Faried is an average defender he is a pretty good rebounder. Rockets have had rebounding problem for a long time now and it has been a particularly big one in this season. I believe Faried can help Rockets on that end. I am not yet sold on his ability to hit 3s as the sample size is too low (5 of 11 so far since he became a Rocket). But he is quick and can attack the rim in seconds if they give him space. CP3 has started playing at a real all-star level. He is a good on-court coach too. We have seen idiotic decisions from Rockets this season. Such as when Gordon handed over the ball to poor FT shooter Tucker and not to forget the other way when Tucker couldn't believe somebody had given him the ball and so he started playing ball is lava game.
All that said, Rockets have lost so many games this season that they lead with 15+ points that most of Rocket fans are not willing to trust the team at this point of time. If they go on a good winning streak then perhaps many of the Rocket fans can believe in the team once again. But right now we can't trust the commitment and ability of the team.

I still say that the Thunder are the better team, but that would be a very fun series to watch.

Yeah, it could be interesting although it seems unlikely that they will face each others in the playoffs. It seems Denver and OKC are very like to meet in semis and if Rockets are able to beat Portland then they would likely face GSW in the semis.

Woah.....Harden had to get 58 points, 10 assists and 4 steals to get our bench depleted team home.
I just wonder if there ever will be a game this season which we lead throughout and win in a blowout? All our games have to close and we have to face the fast beating heart and jittering nerves all the time.

That's not my post but what Rocket fans are saying. It seems the greek freak is going to win MVP and Harden is going to be robbed again. One of the narratives in NBA is that Harden is a bad defender when in reality he has been a very good defender this season. 2nd in steals and maybe still first in deflections although I have not seen deflection stats in last 1 month.
