horrible news.
Oladipo goes out on a stretcher for the Pacers....
Here's hoping he's OK and it was precautionary - doesn't sound good though....

possible the LeBron injury is more serious than expected? Philly vs. Spurs on ESPN coming up Who knew Corey Brewer was one of the most entertaining players in the league? The Sixers have to extend him for the rest of the year.

agreed.
great hustle - how about the way he played Harden the other night?
are we in that much trouble with this bench - or just 'growing' see Bolden's last 2 swats and dunk?
loving how Shamet has shown he's a keeper. just gets bullied on 'D' - hoping he puts some muscle on this offseason
just waiting for Fultzy and Zhaire to come back.
still want a '4', backup '5', 3&D wing and possibly a backup PG - can't wait to see what the trade deadline brings......

not being a homer - that was quite the comeback when they seemed dead in the water under 2 to play - in the final minute plus - Shammy with a 3 and Redick with a 4 PT play sad to hear about Oladipo - looks like it's just the Raps, Bucks and Celts now to worry about........ nets are a great story - don't think they're enough to worry about 7 game series......

The Sixers are really hitting their stride. They seem to be learning how to close out games and might actually do better in the playoffs than I originally thought. Their bench has gotten much better over the past month and Brewer seems to be a great pick up.
I never like to see a player injured and it sucks about Oladipo, but hopefully the Pacers fall off now. They have been a thorn in the Sixers side all season.
James should be back soon. He is practicing now and they were even discussing him coming back tonight, even though he has now been ruled out.

Hi all,
I just realized this thread is about more than trades, draft, and free agency. Guess I've missed a lot.

Hi all, I just realized this thread is about more than trades, draft, and free agency. Guess I've missed a lot. Yeah it kind of just turned into the season long NBA thread. On another note, my first team NBA prediction for this season:
G: Curry G: Harden F: PG13 F: Giannis C: Joel Embiid
MVP: Giannis Harden Embiid

apparently Conley and Gasol are on the trade block for the right price....
interesting - I know Conley signed this off the hook contract a few years back but not certain how many years are left on it and what it would take.............

Oladipo and I have something in common - ruptured quad tendon.
Been 5 months now. Can walk fast, jog some, can't run. Only a little jumping. Not comfortable walking down stairs, so rarely try the normal alternating leg motion.

Simmons Shamet Butler Free Agency (trade) - Wilson, Moose, Bolden whatever as backup Embiid Kid pops a '3' with no hesitation at all and just keeps gunning. It's great. I've seen him get in Simmons and Butler's grill over the past year too - he's got confidence (aka what Fultz was supposed to be)

I was actually really early to his bandwagon. I knew he would be very good the first time I saw him play. He is great at stopping and popping, but he can also shoot very well off of the dribble. I think he will ultimately be a better player than anyone we have on our bench right now. I had an argument with a few friends of mine who are huge Sixers fans. I asked them would they rather have Furkan or Shamet. All of them said Furkan. I said Shamet. I think that debate is getting put to bed now. I am also loving what I am seeing from Bolden. He always plays so hard.

He always plays so hard. furkan's done. I had such high hopes for him (like TLC) they didn't pick up his option. I remember I went through the roof when he shot lights out in a summer league game this year and put up like 40 as I was telling myself - 'Yes - he's the outside shooter we need and it doesn't matter that we lost Ily and Beli'! Kid never got into NBA shape (love Shamet hope he puts some muscle on) and was more cold than hot and got pushed around on defense (out of position a lot like Holmes was - but not only out of position but slow to pick up his man). More of a liability on the court which is pretty much why he's done here. Was watching Belinelli pop 3s last night against us and remembering what a help he was last year in that role (was hoping Korkmaz was that guy)- maybe Shamet is that guy now..................... Amir looks to be done. Very curious what can be had to give Jo-Jo some rest at times at the '5' at the trade deadline.

Jah has been beasting the last 4 games with the Pels pretty much averaging a double double - but here's the key - racking up blocks too - so it appears as if he's actually attempting to defend.
Here's the problem with judging some of these guys too soon - see the 2015 NBA Top 3 - KAT gets grilled on occasion for just putting up shallow #s and the Wolves can't win - D'Lo was jetsonned out of L.A. because he wasn't deemed part of their future - and Jah was labeled as a giant bust.
Granted it's 4 games - but there are times when you put Okafor on the court on the low block and he's pretty much impossible to defend - look at how D'Lo is blossoming finally in Brooklyn.
Oak is never going to be a star in this league due to being an old school back to the basketball dinosaur and the league/times passed him by - but he does have a place in the league off the bench in certain situations dependent upon matchups. i.e. when the game slows down - when the game turns into a halfcourt game and you want to dump the ball down low.
Gives me hope for Fultzy
Need a bucket when the game slows down and can work the paint with his back to the basket if you're slim on shooters? Put Jah in the final seconds......
He's a smooth operator.....
Terrific 2nd Big IMO off the bench going forward - wasn't drafted for that - fine - but still has his place......
Sometimes in life you need to be humbled. Jah and Nerlens Noel weren't the stars they thought they were. Not respectable starting 'Bigs' in the league. But I'd love to have a 'humbled' Jah coming off the bench just for spot minutes backing up Embiid instead of a non-existant dinosaur in Amir Johnson who is shot.
Want an easy bucket when the game slows down and you want to eat the clock a bit?
Jah's that 'Type of Guy' .....
