ABC Saturday night NBA starts off strong this week with two great games, the Thunders/Sixers was good and the Rockets/Lakers was even better.
The NBA is fantastic this year. I'm not a huge fan of the three-points frenzy, but overall we've seen great basketball. Both conferences are full of compelling storylines. We've had teams like the Warriors and Celtics full of drama, teams like the Nets and Kings finally rising from the depths, and just great young talent all over the league.
Yeah, the Warriors will probably win it all again, but with Lebron out of the East, everything just seems more wide open and unpredictable. These playoffs might be pretty epic.

see any teams out there that may be out of it - having a firesale at the deadline - i.e. The Wiz and Magic
Sixers apparently have their eyes on Vonleh from the Knicks. not sure why the Knicks why the Knicks would want to get rid of him - he's one of those guys who was picked in the lottery and started off slow but with a change of scenery at least looks like an NBA player now - last year of his contract.
don't know if i'd give up too much for a rental if he may just walk after the year - maybe a couple of 2nd rounds and some cash - through Kormaz in there

I think the Lakers played very well and should have won if not for us hitting our 3s in the 2nd half. But annoying Laker fans have going on about how refs handed the win to the Rockets when if anything Lakers were getting more calls. The PJ Tucker clean block given foul was just one of those instances where they gifted Lakers.
Next we go to Philadelphia. I really believe we have zero chance in the next game and it might be the first Rockets game of the season that I won't see. Embiid will put dunks after dunks on our small line-up.
Important to note how good Harden was on defense. 4 steals, so many deflections and key rebound moments. And yet the people who actually not see games complain on twitter how Harden is bad because he can't play defense.

This is glorious.
Would be a fun Finals if they're both able to get there.
Westbrook vs. Embiid:

Butler and Embiid are listed as questionable for the game against Rockets? Will they play? I am sure Rockets will be blown out if they do. But give us a break man.....We deserve some break. Hope Embiid and Butler don't play against us.

The guy I'd want to see the Celtics snag is Vucevic from the Magic. I think he'd be easier to get than Anthony Davis. Just don't trade Kyrie. I need to see him play in Boston in May and June, I think that might be fun to watch.

I need to see him play in Boston in May and June, I think that might be fun to watch. Vukie used to be on the Sixers - part of the disasterous Bynum trade I believe.
rarely gets talked about - for years everytime I see him put up like 16 points and 18 rebounds I get sick to my stomach.
I want a back up big for Embiid too - so I wouldn't mind having him back.
rumors the Sixers are after Terrance Ross from the Magic too - doesn't excite me but they need an extra 3&D wing and bench help.
some Sixers faithful up in arms not willing to give up a #1 or a rental - this years pick is slated at #26 right now I believe - pretty much a 2nd rounder and they've gotten trash - like the TLC and Kormaz's of the world late first - i'd pull the trigger - think Ross is still only like 27 and could be solid role player - i.e. a 7th or 8th man. kinda want Vonleh too - but Knicks in rebuild mode - why not hold onto him since he's finally shown some upside.

Best of luck to you too. Butler is out but Embiid is fine to play. Brewer's revenge game against Rockets. He may drop 15 against us. He is to guard Harden it seems.

so...
the trade deadline is approaching.
and the Pels are #12 in the West.
a disappointment - again.
ride it out with 'the brow' and let him walk after the year - or deal him?
I say deal him and get a couple of firsts and a couple of wings from the Celts.

Rapidly approaching the trade deadline - this years date is Feb 7th.
Anybody hear any rumors on Kemba Walker, Kevin Love (and if he's fully healthy now - and the Cavs are just in tank mode) and Bradley Beal?

I was at the game last night. I actually had amazing seats in row 2 right behind the basket. It was nuts. I have been close before, but never this close. I mean, the players were falling into us. It was great to watch. I have been to about 20 games in the past five years and the Sixers have lost every single one until now. It was great to see a win where we never relinquished control at any point. Embiid was absolutely unstoppable. Every time he touched the ball he scored. I was happy to see Brewer go crazy. This win actually made the Saturday Thunder loss worse for me. We are 2-1 on the start of our toughest stretch of the year, but we could have easily been 3-0. That loss hurt.

Baby Dino's may already be the favorite the reach the Finals in the East - that definitely gets them there IMO - Kawhi, Lowry, Beal - but what do you give up for him?
they've got the Sixers # like the Celts and Bucks.
I'd like Beal on the Sixers too - to gain assets you have to give up assets and it pains me - but Fultzy, the Miami 2021 and filler like Chandler a couple of 2nd Rounders and cash sound reasonable to me since the Wiz are a hot mess with or without Wall and they just got Ariza and are still subpar.

The bulls and rockets have finalized the trade of Carmelo Anthony and someone has already updated the Wiki page of the other player going to the bulls.
Jon Keith Diebler (born June 22, 1988) is an American former professional basketball player for Darüşşafaka of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) and the EuroLeague. He played four seasons of college basketball at Ohio State University. After serving as the Head Boys Basketball coach for Danbury High School in Lakeside, OH in the SBC Puddle Division, Deibler was acquired by the Chicago Bulls on Jan 22nd, 2019. Deibler immediately assumed the role of best player on the Bulls team, while also becoming the best coach on their staff. It is unknown whether Deibler will actually play for the Bulls. It has been speculated that Deibler is unwilling to take a step down from OH boys basketball to play for the lowly Bulls.
Savage, but not at all wrong.

Zion might help with WCJ as well.
