Then you aren't what I see as a problem. I can't speak for the OP, but I just want rational thought, not "God gave man the planet to do with as he chose so it doesnt matter if we run it into the ground". Because if you take that argument, you have to remember God also had that whole good steward thing. I don't care what people believe, as long as they remember everyone has the right to worship as they choose so one person's idea of god isn't necessarily the next person's idea of god. Someone who is discussing their beliefs with someone else is not in any way stifling rights of others to worship as they choose. Normal people should be able to have conversations with anyone or at east debate why they would be wrong. People who get annoyed by religious people oftentimes lack the ability to do this which is a part of the problem they have religious. They want them to think like them but don;t wish to be bothered with explaining it the "right" way which makes sense considering they can't. Conversation, yes. Do you see the problem with say plastering the 10 commandments on the wall of a courthouse? Passing laws against sharia law while enshrining Christian beliefs into law? If one wants to worship satan, so long as one can do it without breaking the law, one has that right. Making certain sex acts illegal because they are associated with homosexuality because the Bible says it is a sin is wrong. So certain states banned a sex act to ban homosexuality. The sneaky stuff. Like the recent vote in some states making it as difficult as possible for certain people to vote. Like I said-discuss is fine Don't ban it.

Kind of an odd story........ My Father in Law is probably much more religious than he'd ever let on..........as in his beliefs, but he no longer attends church. Apparently his Mother had belonged to a congregation for a very, very long time...... but when she grew elderly and ill, she hadn't been able to keep up with her 'tithe'........ and this church had adopted a method of shaming members that I've seen other churches employ. In their weekly flyer handed out to everyone attending service, they'd list the names of everyone who was behind on their payments......sometimes even listing the $Amounts. He did not find that an acceptable place to worship after that. That is horrible. I was pretty religious but ran afoul of such behavior. Its like John Lennon said Crude, but what I get is the message gets diluted downstream. THIS IS WHAT WAS SAID, but this dude telling the story alters it Maybe he disagrees with that part of the message so he skips that part. Or maybe he feels this part should be added.

Remember Short Circuit? Why do you think it's 10%? Where does it say 10%? There is not a mandate in Scripture for 10%, but the origins of it are mentioned in the Bible regarding a suggested amount. Genesis 28 Any particular religious organization can establish any tenet they wish in relation to charity. 10% isn't a bad number but some give more, some give less. Matthew 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. 23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Bit more than 10%.

That's always been the problem with bum collectivists like Jesus. They go around spouting feel good nonsense, because it's easy to talk like that when you don't have anything. (Janis Joplin 'freedom's just another word) It's always easier to give other peoples' money away.
If the world operated the way he wanted, it'd be a mostly unproductive hippie commune. It might be a bit more peaceful and most would be skinnier and high, but how comfortable overall would most members be? Not very, would be my guess.

I hate religious lunatics who use God to dictate what they want and what they do believe.

So now you are against Jesus? But pro religion. Ok

Against him? No, he had some good ideas. But he was still pretty much a bum.
I am not pro-religion.......just pro-freedom. See? I have never identified as a GOP because of their Moral Majority crowd when I was growing up. I just can not side with the other side because of a fundamental belief about collectivism. One party I dislike, the other I really dislike.
I've also mention how surprising it's been to me that I've defended religious people and their beliefs far more than I ever thought would end up happening. It's like a lot of other people, I prioritize the things I feel I should be most worried about. Collectivists have had far more negative effects on my life.

So basically they are following a retard shepard which shows they are even more retarded. That's how we all are. We are all individualists when it comes to our respective areas of expertise, but for all other areas - where we are lay people at best - we are indeed sheep. Independence of thought can only be applied to fields where we possess considerable knowledge.

Every time when you and I were talking and belief in God came up, you're the one who brought it up. Every time.

Then that same person automatically loses all of his/her credibility and I stop taking them seriously.
It's so annoying whenever some people, specially some religious Republicans/Conservatives, start saying things such as:
- God gave us...
- When I hear God...
- I don't agree with you because God...
And etc...
Are these people still stuck in the Prehistoric Age?
It's like if I was talking to a Neanderthal in 2018.
