Hate to nitpick, but why would she wear such a ridiculous hairdo?
I wear my hair in a ponytail 100% of the time, and I am not even out fighting crime.

Why do women wear high heels? Because it looks good. But, seriously, it's a comic book. Her hair is no more ridiculous than a cape.

Thanks for posting this taylorfirst1 and not only is it official but with news of it filming in March I have heard some rumours saying it might air before the end of the year but I am not sure yet. I think it is awesome it is going through and the egg is on the face of all the haters who said we would never get a 'Batwoman' TV show or a lesbian superhero leading her own TV show. I also heard the 'Nancy Drew' pilot has been picked up too and that was rumoured to be based on the comic book series by Dynamite Entertainment a few months ago so we have another two comic book shows to join Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Gotham, Legends of Tomorrow, Marvel's Agents of Shield, Marvel's the Runaways, Titans, The Gifted, Krypton, Wynonna Earp, Van Helsing, Happy, Stargirl, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Daredevil, the Punisher and Secret Six which is more than a lot of people thought would be possible with comic book adaptions. Just to point out to both BexxyJ @deblovesbeccy mostly you Deb so you don't get overexcited...too latei m guessing, this doesn't mean the show is greenlit, pilots get turned down all the time, CW nixed half the pilots they ordered last season do no promisies this will even make it to series or to air, remember Marvel's Most Wanted? & CW Wayward Sister's? Also from what I heard Batwoman if it does get picked up wont be a regular season show it'll follow Black Lightning's lead and be a mid season show which if it does well will air starting in Oct later that year for S2, also unless it goes to series I doubt there will be a legit means for anyone outside the US to see it, no real value in random pilots or point for networks to want it, ten again maybe it'll be part of the DC streaming service? should that ever go international. Also President Ackbar™ I think part of it is it's an added layer of identity concealment, makes sense if you think about it, also works better in comics than in real life, fake hair, real hair all looks the same drawn, so you can say it's 100% real looking and moving, in live action it can look fake a shit though, so they may have to watch out on the show, but in theory it makes sense, I mean if you believe that Batwoman really has long red hair you wont think twice about this other woman who has very short hair and has had such for a long period of time.

Glad to hear they are casting for a team, like I said before though I hope they don't make it like a ready meal just heat for 5 minutes and presto like they did for Team Flash, LOT or Supergirl, do it like S1 of Arrow or Black Lightning build the team up over time so when we get the full team it's like an oh shit moment, just curious if CW will be picking up the show I mean that would be their 6th superhero show on the network at the same time, which is why they initially passed up Supergirl before it went to CBS, CW didn't want to be known as the superhero network, but maybe they changed their minds?
Also pretty sure CW or WB has a similar agreement with Sky over here, seems to be where most if not all the Arrowverse shows land.

That is a pretty good impression of us Dazz and as most people know I am an excited person and am hyperactive. A bit late to replying to this but as most of you would know the CW Network has officially picked up 'Batwoman' and some sites are saying it is going to air towards the end of the year but I haven't come across an official date for it yet. Hopefully this show turns out to be great and we get to see a lot of Bat Universe villains and superheroes in it and I just read Dougray Scott has been cast in the role of Kate's Father, Jacob Kane and and I recognise the actor from 'Ever After', 'Dark Water', 'Desperate Housewives' and some of his other roles but I am still anxiously awaiting to find out who is going to be playing Bette Kane and hopefully there is an announcement about that soon. There are a lot of good actresses that could play Flamebird/ Hawkfire but I don't think they are going to go with anybody bigger than Ruby Rose 'cause they won't want them to outshine the main star but hopefully they do a better job of casting her than they have with some other female superhero roles in the 'Arrowverse.' Batwing as Beccy mentioned for me above is an interesting addition to the show and I have never been a fan of his name to be honest 'cause there is a Batwing and it is confusing but I like the character and think he just needs a name change.
By the way, rumours are saying the Sacred Order of Saint Dumas are going to be in this. Looks like Azrael is confirmed if true!!

The series hasn't been picked up yet Deb, they just switched up directors for the pilot so that's not even shot yet, which is what the network will be judging whether to go ahead with a series or not based on that and reactions if they air it.
If it does get picked up what I heard is it'll be a mid season replacement so that would mean Jan - March 2020 it would begin airing, I dunno about not wanting anyone to outshine Ruby, I mean is she even a big deal really? I mean I only know of her by her being pointed out in movies by reviewers I watch who say she sucks, I could see CW bringing in a bigger name maybe for a one season run, probably the villain, that way they have a name to promote and catch peoples eyes on stuff who they can then get rid off for S2 and let the normal cast be the stars.
I wonder though even if it doesn't air and the series isn't picked up, they should include the Batwoman pilot as a bonus on the Arrow/Flash/Supergirl boxsets...it would be nice and allow everyone to see it regardless.

Ohh. Okay. I assumed it had already been picked up 'cause of the way they have been talking about it on the websites I look at it and I heard the President of the CW Network has liked what he has seen so far and thinks the show has a big future on the channel ahead of it. I think with 'Arrow' being cancelled now it is even more likely 'Batwoman' will be picked up 'cause they are saying 'Batwoman' is going to replace 'Arrow' and get 'Arrow's' timeslot and there has been talk of having another 'Constantine' show as you would know and I think we will get that or a 'Martian Manhunter' spinoff which the actor has talked about in a few interviews. With 'Arrow' ending I think the Green Arrow will turn up in the DC movies now and we might get a 'Green Arrow' movie that is far more like the comic books without Felicity and with Mia and Roy in much larger roles. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a mention of the Green Arrow in 'Birds of Prey' or if they have the character turn up in the 'Black Canary' solo movie they are talking about making and that could be used to set up a 'Green Arrow' movie and as a sequel they could have a 'Green Arrow/ Black Canary' team up movie.
With 'Batwoman the writers have the advantage of having a very, very large amount of Bat Universe superheroes and villains at their disposal and 'Gotham' didn't really have that 'cause they based it before Bruce become Batman which made it impossible for them to have a lot of the superheroes unless they changed things and made it they came before Bruce become Batman.

I tend to be cautious on this stuff, I mean wasn't Wayward Sisters being talked about as being a lock at one point, then they got cold feet and whiffed on it, the Arrow cancelation bodes well for the show however, as does it being a Berlanti project, he has the cache to get a season order based on his track record of shows, so it could just be a formality, hell it could be a done deal and they just aren't announcing it just yet.
You are right though a lot of places are talking like it's already got a season order, but then a lot of places talk out their backsides, and as we have joked about a lot of the promises that come out of the Arrowverse camps are a bit dubious at the best of times.
Thing would be I dunno how much Bat stuff they would have, it's still WB and CW, it's not like the fuckers learn from their past cock ups, they just react to them without growing from the experience, so I could see them doing a lot of the allusions and references to Batman lore but nothing too tangible because they be stupid.
I would actually like if they did more shows at shorter seasons, like if we could get a 12 ep order of Supergirl, a 12 ep order of Martian Manhunter where you can have each appear in each others season as a featured crossover, that way we could get less filler and more focused storytelling, but a new Constantine show...fuck yes gimme Gimme GIMME!! hehehe

Yeah. You make a fair point about 'Wayward Sisters' looking like it was locked in and going forward before and there were multiple news sites saying it was only a matter of time before we had a date for the premiere of the show and out of nowhere CW Network dropped it and I think they were slack for not giving the show a chance especially when you look back at some of the older shows that have been successful which the networks thought would be failures but still they gave them a fair chance and they proved them wrong. 'Seinfeld' was a great example of this and the network still didn't have that much faith in the show after the first season and it was only after the second season they realised they had something special. I think all shows should get a chance even if it is just for one episode to see if the audience likes them or not 'cause networks are not always the best judges when it comes to what people are going to like and 'Wayward Daughters' might have been a hit. I think it would have got a lot of 'Supernatural' fans watching especially Clare, Alex and Jodie fans and I remember one of the producers saying they were going to finish up some of the storylines that were going to be in 'Wayward Daughters' with Clare and Alex but neither have been in it this season and now Kathryn (Clare) is the main star of her own show, 'The Strain' she might not be back for the final season but I am hoping they bring both her and Alex back.
Have you been watching the latest episodes of 'Supernatural' and what do you think of the whole thing with Jack killing Marry and Jack looking likely to become a villain unless Chuck/God can give him his soul back? I have a feeling they might rensoul him and then he will have to work with Sam and Dean to fight the Empty next season but they won't exactly be the closest of friends after he killed their Mum but I think the Empty is more likely to be the final villain 'cause of how powerful they are. With both 'Arrow' and 'Supernatural' ending soon the CW Network will have to come up with some new shows and that is one of the reasons I think 'Batwoman' is a done deal and is just yet to be announced and I recently heard the CW Network could be picking up 'Stargirl' too 'cause they are having some problems with the DC Universe and shows and the streaming service might not last. One article I was reading was saying the TV shows could be moved to the CW Network with 'Stargirl' being a strong contender since it fits in with the tone of the other shows. I am not so sure about 'Titans' and 'Doom Patrol' though 'cause they are more violent and have swearing in them but maybe they might do a late night thing with the CW Network where they can have shows like that like they do with some channels here.
If the DC Universe folds the shows have to be taken off it they should just reopen as an online service for their comic books or turn it into some DC Comic Books version of I Tunes for fans worldwide. Digital Comic Books are becoming more popular all the time and are the future of the industry but outside of North America we can't buy them legally on many platforms. That needs to change if they want the industry to survive and not just with DC but Marvel, Image Comics, Action Lab, IDW, Aspen Comics, Dynamite Entertainment etc. I can definitely see 'Constantine' happening on the CW Network but am just not sure when.

Do you mean The Society for Katheryn? The Strain was Del Toro's weird vampire show that ended a year or 2 ago, or has Katheryn picked up another show also? If she has 2 in the bag I can see her not coming back, but if it is just one who knows, could be a one off season or not, but it's a Netflix show and a short one so she probably could squeeze in a few appearances for Supernatural either at the beginning or the end of the season, which with the show ending I hope they do because you don't want these characters to have their stories wrapped up off screen imo.
Yeah been watching the show, haven't seen the most recent episode, saw last weeks with Jack trying to find a way to bring Mary back, not sure how I like this, felt kind of hollow in how they killed her off, I hope they do give Jack back his soul, my thinking is what if Sam & Dean can give up part of their souls not enough to fully restore Jack's but enough to give him some form of balance again, and yeah the Empty seems like the most sensible choice for a villain at this point, as I hope they don't make it Jack as I like the character too much to want him dead, as for Sam, Dean & Jack I dunno as silly as it seems this isn't something they haven't dealt with before, Jack killed Mary accidentally and tried to fix it, Sam flat out tried to murder Bobby repeatedly that one time just to prevent him getting his soul back, so I can see them sort of forgiving him, I loved in the last episode Dean who you would think would be threatening to kill Jack didn't, when he turned his "If he's hurt her.." into telling Cas that then he's dead to him I think shows how much Dean loves Jack, his thought wasn't to blame Jack but Cas for not telling them about Jack's condition.
On to the DC Universe, I haven't heard issues with the service, I heard there was an issue with Swamp Thing and they cut the order down during production to like 10 or 11 episodes instead of the initial 13, what I have heard was it's doubtful the service is in trouble given it's only 6 months old and how much DC/WB had to invest in the service before they even launched that they wouldn't be pulling the plug so soon, but that they may just have got shown how the series is coming along and with Swamp Thing being a likely costly series they felt no need to waste money on filler and instead just wrap the story up sooner as to not waste money, being because they just didn't like how the show was progressing, also with DC Universe DC are offsetting a lot of costs by licensing these shows internationally to Netflix, which maybe also a factor, maybe Netflix only offered X amount for the series but it was costing DC Y to make the show, so they decided ok F it, cut the order down that way we aren't spending so much of our own money on this, so yeah im not so worried about the DC service as of yet, if we hear more shows are getting cut down or even scrapped then I will worry, as for now I just chalk it up to being a Swamp Thing...er thing.
