Pretty brutal performance from England, faultless really. That's it then, New Zealand's to lose now, no way England win at Lords, I wish the final was anywhere else but there... Well if Kiwis win I do at least make £130 on it, England win I turn a profit and celebrate till my liver packs up...

Smashing win by England, really flexing their muscles when it counted. Not for the first time, Steve Smith the only Australian to shine. All in all, given where they were in 2017, a semi final finish is a good result for Australia. This summers ODI team will be interesting. I can’t see Finch, Khawaja, Maxwell, Lyon, and possibly Warner getting a run. Word doing the rounds I’ve heard is that Alex Carey is to be anointed captain.

FINCH as captain won series in india, abu dhabi (against pakistan) and now took the team to the world cup semi. i dont see FINCH and WARNER going anywhere. this was one bad day.

All these posts about Ireland, and yet the bloke batting now for England, and their Captain, is as Irish as a Shamrock. And even he turned his back on the country of his birth and heritage (not to mention accent) to play for England. Lets move on and get back to sport. That guy has to change accounts to promote his bile on the sports board and some folk think he's funny. If that's his want then go do it on boards that might in the least tolerate or debate about it. I have blocked him for what that is worth and will be speaking to admin about keeping political posts off of this board. Well, he is like my uncle who deliberately wants to pick up a conversation on Muslims and find fault with them. Jack believes that his anti-protestant/anti-English and anti-Semitic bigotry is excused because he is suffering from depression or it is okay for him to continue with his political posts. Of course it is not and his bullshit politics on sports board is totally unwanted. At least he should leave cricket threads alone and continue his monotonous nonsense on football threads. There are cool Irish folks here though. Mr.Furious for one is a nice man. But Jack's constant bullshit and effort to stroke this Celtic-Rangers debate is nauseating.

I think England should win this WC from here on but you never know. NZ had good bowlers and their captain is a great man.

The Roy/ Bairstow opening batting partnership and the Archer/Woakes opening bowling partnership makes England tick plus an inspired/inspiring captain in Morgan

Australia starts building for the 2023 WC tomorrow. Finch will be 36 by then. So will Warner. Chances are they aren’t playing then, so may not be playing now.

Don't believe he will last long so I agree with you that he will probably not last long. Warner will last that long I believe. Aussies still have pretty good pace bowlers in their side and they have been performing very well lately. Although I believe their recent great performance is a bit of over achievement and will not continue for long. Will be interesting to see how Smith's test career goes from here. He has the best Test cricket record of modern day batsmen.

STARC - 9 overs for 70 in a world cup semi. Well, to be honest it could have been different if Aussies posted a better score. Or if Aussies bowled first. The total Australia posted was simply not good enough and it gave confidence to an already good English batting lineup.

Just for the record, I have no issue with the Irish, my last serious relationship was with a Dublin girl who lives in Dublin, for 8 years! herself and her family I would give my last breath for even now. I don't have that political venom in me, I understand that some folk - both Irish and British - still think the war is on! Okay, get on with it, but do it where it is understood with like minded morons, don't do it cowardly like on forum platforms where nobody is remotely interested. St. Patricks are my team in Irish soccer (used to go and watch them play on a Friday night), I still look for their result, I went to watch Dublin in the Gaelic finals, it's a beautiful country with beautiful people, but as always there's poisonous pills in the stew. Thanks A.J.

England has been my 2nd favourite team since the days of Robin Smith and Alec Stewart. That said I will be happy if NZ win though will like for England to win it.
