Clay Matthews to the Rams. I don't know him as well as Packer fans, but I feel like Matthews hasn't been a truly quality player in 3 or 4 years.

Today was a rough day for Packers fans watching as fan favorites Clay Matthews and Randall Cobb sign elsewhere. Clay to the Rams (close to home so made sense) and Cobb to the Cowboys (this one really hurt). Most of us knew it was time to move on but at the same time it sucks watching guys you like move on.
Both of them can still play. Clay while no longer is the star playmaker he used to be can still be a situational pass rusher or a move to inside linebacker could fit him nicely. Cobb can still play at a good to high level it's just he can't stay on the damn field anymore.

call me delusional/sentimental/drunk....
weeks later - I'm still elated D-Jax is coming home - can't wait to see what that the offense looks like with him and Jeffery on the field together when Wentz's #1 target is Ertz and then you add Philly G in a double tight end set at times.
could make for some scary good bombs - if...if....if.....we have a threat in the backfield - i.e somebody that can pick up a 3rd & 2 or is a threat on 3rd Down for a play action pass - I don't get the hate on RBs by today's NFL Gurus. if you have a respectable back that is decent short yardage or is a threat on screens and play actions - it opens up the middle for slot receivers and the sidelines for burners

Jordy Nelson has retired. Jordy Nelson was/is one of my favorite Packer of all time. I still remember having a bet during that Steelers vs Packers Super Bowl on who scores the first touchdown and Jordy was my bet. Greg Jennings got most of the GB focused picks but I was thinking Nelson on a deep shot because the constant talk was that Pitt couldn't match the Packers speed on turf. I was very sad when he got cut but at the same time I understood it. Wish now that they wouldn't have spent that money on Jimmy Graham but here we are. Jordy was a legit class act. He won't have his number retired or anything but Packers fans really do love that dude.

So far what is everybody's favorite/least favorite free agency move?
For me? Best Trade: OBJ to Cleveland takes the cake easy. That team should be a lot of fun. I'm tempted to buy a Baker jersey honestly.
Best Free Agent Signing: The bias in me likes the Amos to Packers move because it improves GB and hurts Chicago. However looking elsewhere Earl Thomas going to the Ravens should make that Ravens pass defense beyond scary. Should help with the team that they're trying to build as a run first offense and hold teams to lower scores.
Worst Free Agent Signing: Trent Brown being the highest paid LT in the NFL. How long until teams realize that the Patriots manage to just turn randoms into stars only for them to get paid so they get comp picks? The Patriots are just so god damn better at this then everybody else.

Bears trade Jordan Howard to the Eagles. For a 2020 6th round pick too. Howie must have some kind of power over other NFL GMs.

Howie must have some kind of power over other NFL GMs. Bears fans don't seem happy, but it's the last year of his rookie deal and most likely Chicago knows he's gonna be asking for a shitload of money and a new contract. Instead of just letting him walk at the end of the season the season they decided to get something back for him. Makes sense to me.

I like the Howard trade.
Birds really missed Blount last year - i.e. a bigger power back - and from what I've seen of Howard - he's really isn't a 'skat back' or somebody that can catch a lot of balls out of the backfield - but more along the lines of a Blount bullish type - and giving up a 6th rounder? i'm in.
this is what I was talking about above - you just need to have some respectable players in the backfield to pose a threat at least so safeties and linebackers 'jump' so to speak and concentrate on the short game opening up a deep threat.
curious to see the other backs though. Clement is still on the team who I like - Ajayi is a free agent and met with the Colts with no deal in place and apparently his agent is still talking to the eagles. smallwood (whom I hate to admit - I've hated on) did show some flashes late in the season - Kiper has them taking a back from Alabama in the 1st Round.

Howard to the Eagles is a great move for the Eagles, and I’m surprised the Bears got so little for him. The Eagles lack of a RB hurt them for a lot of last season.

Ertz reconstructed his deal on the Eagles - i believe clearing around $5 mil or so in cap space.
i like it. nfl trades are rare - but curious to see what's coming at the Draft and also during the preseason when roster cuts are made

Wilson gets his money, & rightfully so. QBs on the rookie contract cheap who win early can't be denied money even if it means unable to compete for other position players. Else QBs would never see any money lols.
4yrs is a good term also, neither is saddled too long.

I've always like Wilson
that being said - I thought the clip of him with his wife in bed was a little over the top.
apparently it was rumored he wanted to play in New York because that's where his wife either works/enjoys.
have read some stories how The Legion of Boom apparently couldn't stand him - hoping he's not turning prima-donna on us - never got that feel from him in the past.

The Packers have suffered a devastating injury - to their head coach. Matt LaFleur tore his achilles playing basketball and could be hobbled for the beginning of the season.
This never would've happened with Mike McCarthy.
