The Mist hands down.
As far as those saying - Night of the Living Dead
the ending was well deserved.
Ben wanted to be the Alpha. guess what? he got everybody else killed.
he should have listened to Coop. funny how Coop wanted to keep everybody in the basement and come out when it was safe.
what does Ben do after he gets everybody killed with his horrible decision leading - he flees to the basement just like Coop wanted all along!
it was justice what happened to Ben!

I'd give an honorary mention to Drag Me to Hell Excellent choice. Yeah, that ending was disturbing and heartbreaking at the same time.

JACOBS LADDER has a very emotional (if not heartbreaking) ending. The staircase scene specifically.

Open Water, even though you kind of knew it wouldn't end well, they gave you a tease that it might. Don't think I'll ever re-watch it.

Ben didn’t want to stay out of the basement. He just didn’t want to start down there. His thought was to shore up the 1st floor to buy them time and fall back to the basement as a last resort. If they’d have gone to the basement first the zombies probably would’ve broke the basement door down by the time help had come.

Coop had the master plan - you huddle up down the basement and wait for help to arrive - which it did - proving Coop right and Ben wrong.

agree with others in this thread stating Open Water ending was haunting and eerie and left me empty inside - own it - love it (and part II) one of the best shark movies out there - 8/10 beers

The original The Wolf Man I thought Larry was a pathetic loser and a sap. Funny how he was billed as a college kid but looked like a 50 year old boozer He should have been brought up on stalking charges too. One of my favorite movies though - own The Wolf Man boxset

I can't believe that nobody said Carrie. The ending is both heartbreaking and terrifying.
