You're full of $#!&!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SHAZAM! was WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than Captain Marvel!
This movie has several great performances in the form of Zach Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer and Mark Strong. It has a great supporting cast. A scary but still clear and even sympathetic villain. A strong story about right and wrong, about being abandoned, and about finding new family, with lots of heart! And it has a lot comedy, fun action scenes, and just the right amount of SFX, not too much, not too little.
This is a great little movie that deserves to be doing much better! But nooooo, because its DC! If this were an MCU movie you'd all be sucking it dick as if it were the 2nd coming.

I liked Captain Marvel more, but I still thoroughly enjoyed Shazam.

It seems you need some Kleenex and Prep H. I hope you feel better later.
Oh! Wait! Are you saying this seriously? Wow!

I liked Shazam. I did have the dreaded check my phone to see what time it was about half way through which is never a good sign. It dragged a bit, but caught right back up about 15 minutes later.

You are entitled to your opinion The rest of us are entitled to ours. Levi was more fun as Fandral. Angel was good. Strong's been better in other stuff Sympathetic? No. [/p][/quote] It has lots of SFX. Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a better story on foster families. Biased much? I have stated elsewhere the difference is in how the 2 companies approach films. Marvel is fanboys making the films they want to see. WB still sees DC as product. They are making films to appeal to an audience. Like a vegetarian flipping burgers-the desired heart isn't there. The burger is cooked to specs, but it's all book.

Levi was more fun as Fandral.
Levi was more fun in a movie that sucked where he had a total of three minutes screen time? If that!? What kind of drugs are you on? Strong's been better in other stuff. Sympathetic? No.
Of course Strong's been better. He's a fine actor who's been given much better roles over the course of his career. But for the role he had in this he was good. And I meant more the overall character. How we see how childhood events shaped him, and who it carried over into his adult life.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a better story on foster families.
There'll always be a better movie about any given topic, especially if that movie focuses completely on that subject rather than splitting time with super heroics and action sequences.
Biased much?
Yes, I'm biased. I like this movie better than Captain Marvel. By a lot.

Thank you... for YOUR opinion.

Levi was more fun in a movie that sucked where he had a total of three minutes screen time? If that!? What kind of drugs are you on? Ibuprofen. Amoxicillin Had 3 teeth pulled Saturday. In a moderate amount of pain today. This is, according to the paperwork, supposed to be the worst day. Otherwise, since when is the size of the role a gauge of quality. We are talking Dark World, not Ragnarok where he didn't get a line. I always loved the warriors 3. I have some of their adventures in comicbook form. Sorry. The kid pissed me of. John fricken Glover The man rocks. As a parent who had a kid who actually demanded my attention when I was concentrating on driving that when I said if I turned to look at her while I was driving actually demanded "wanna crash! Wanna die!" Kids are as annoying as hell in cars. I don't know how my parents managed when seat belts weren't even mandatory in the 60s. We were all over the damned cars. Daddy should have pulled over & refused to drive until Thad calmed down. Fricken dream. Kid was old enough to know how dangerous it can be driving what looked like country roads at night. Selfish little shit. Dude. Sam Neill as a grumpy old man on the lam with the kid who was later in Deadpool 2? Directed by Taika Waititi. Sam Neill rocks. First time I remember him was when he was Damian in Omen 3. As a gal who lived in SoCal for all by 7 of her nearly 59 yrs & was back in SoCal in the 80s when I was also in my 20s like Carol Danvers, I preferred Captain Marvel because it resonated with my native SoCal ass. The subtle sexism. The SoCal locations. Lita Ford. Shazam had Levi & Angel who stood out. Freddy was annoying. Darla was annoying. The rest of the family were stereotypes-not really developed. I saw this opening weekend, dude. I WANT DC to do right by their fans. They fucked up giving it to Snyder who doesn't know Superman. I love Supergirl on CW. Cavill has the charm to be an EXCELLENT Supes when he's allowed to shine. Its not zero sum. We should be able to love all the heroes we want. I have Marvel, DC, First...E-Man. Judge Dredd. Creeper. Spectre. Spidey. Cap. Thor. Dr Strange. Defenders. Tomb of Dracula. Ghost Rider. Why can Marvel do right by the characters while WB is stuck in the old studio process mentality? Why can't we have fanboys making DC movies they want to see? Inclusive, not "marketing says this is popular". Not a bunch of suits in a room kissing ass to the studio head. I saw a comment from the director today where he said that mid-credit scene is just fun. It's not necessarily the sequel. Really? I will be seeing this a second time tomorrow. I see superhero films usually with my kid and with my sister-separate viewings & on my dime.

Why can Marvel do right by the characters MCU can't do right by the characters. Just look at how badly MCU fucked up Spider-Man. Turned him into an Iron Man sidekick who doesn't have any Spider-Sense and relies on AI suits given to him by Tony Stark and who doesn't give a shit about "great responsibility" and his sole motivation for being Spider-Man is to try to impress an egotistical and arrogant billionaire.

I didn't like Shazam! Going to see the movie wasn't a total waste though, it did get me re-reading Miracleman.
