With Freddy I say just make a sequel to the first Nightmare, that way bring back Nancy one last time, no need to worry about all the other dream warriors and stuff like that or Freddy's kid, but use elements from those films in this new movie, and depending on if you want to make it the finale of the series go for it and have Nancy kill Freddy once and for all in a heroic sacrifice or if not if you want it to be the start of a new series but you need to write out Robert do something like Freddy had a kid, that kid was normal but his grandson or granddaughter is a monster like grandpappy.
As for Jason yeah just keep going with it, they could even adapt some of the novels into movies at this point I would assume, Jason X had a series of novels, or the comics? I mean Jason has a fair amount of media outside the movies to draw from at this point.
That is an interesting idea. Although as a big fan of Alice I would prefer to see Alice return more since she was the one person who Freddy couldn't beat and she defeated him in two movies and is still alive whereas Nancy died in 'Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors' but I wouldn't be opposed to another movie with Nancy returning and Heather has said she wants to come back. It would be fun if they did a movie where they had both Nancy and Alice together against Freddy 'cause that is something we never got to see in the movies and if they had kept Alice the lead in 6 they could have had Nancy help her as a ghost. I am not sure what they will end up doing with it but it is easy to return to the original timeline of the first 6 movies if they used Alice and it is not like 'Halloween' which become very jumbled and muddled up after 'Halloween Resurrection' and 'Resurrection' was the worst movie in that franchise in my opinion and killed the original series and I wish we had got a proper follow up to 'H20' with Josh Hartnett but I heard he wanted too much money to come back and the original sequel was scraped and that is why we ended up getting 'Halloween Resurrection' instead. With Freddy many fans just want one last movie with Robert and he is willing to do it so I think they should make it for the fans.
I think Robert returning one last time could be the end of the 'Nightmare' movies for a long time 'cause it is not easy to replace him and some people forget a lot of Freddy's best lines came from Robert and he had creative control and come up with some of the kills for the character too but I think it is a lot easier to make 'Halloween' and 'Friday the 13th' movies 'cause Michael and Jason wear masks and do not say anything and there are so many things you could do with both characters they could make double the amount of movies that have already come out and keep going if they kept getting the fans back. I really hope they keep with Jason being a zombie monster character 'cause I think that is one of the main things that really separates him from Michael and I have always seen Michael as a more human type of killer even though he is believed to be the Bogeyman and Jason as a monster - a terrifying one as we see without the mask and I would squeal and run away if that was coming after me. Yeah. Freddy and Jason have had a series of novels out and at least one of the 'Friday the 13th' movies that didn't get made was released as a novel but I haven't read that one yet and I think they should release a few unreleased 'Friday the 13th' movies as novels 'cause there are fans who would like to read them and the scripts wouldn't be wasted 'cause of the court case.
Sorry I haven't been very active on the forum lately especially on the 'Arrow' but I have been sick with the flu again and have mostly just been replying to private messages. I am going to write on the 'Arrow' board when I am on next time and will reply to some of your posts Dazz. Have you heard they are making a Robert Englund documentary?
New Documentary to Chronicle the Career of A Nightmare on Elm Street Icon Robert Englundcomicbook.com/horror/2019/05/30/robert-englund-documentary-movie-details-trailer/ Meh I am not a fan of Parts 4 & 5 so Alice holds no interest for me, also the timeline thing makes most sense to me to go back to a sequel of the first film, where the opening can be the end of Part 1 where Nancy is dreaming the scene where she's locked in the Freddy car and Freddy grabs her mother threw the door window, because then you can just explain it as a reoccurring nightmare she has had since the first film, instead of ignoring it like Nightmare 3 did, also by the end the Nightmare series was a bit convoluted, Freddy being taken down so many times was kind of meh also, if you take it back to Nightmare 1 then Freddy has only faced Nancy, so you can reuse elements of the other films, but not have to be bogged down by the various other things, also you don't need to explain why Freddy's personality isn't a cartoon character anymore.
As for replacing Robert I think if they do it right they can if you made the movie a passing of the torch and also made it so you aren't replacing Robert as Freddy but introducing a new Freddie, you can have the character mimic the old one as an homage especially if the new character was Freddy's grandkid who wilfully takes up gramps's mantle as the king of nightmares and what not, it allows them to have their own flair for thing also, like Freddy was a malevolent psychotic prankster, the new Freddie could be more cerebral, setting up puzzles and riddles in their kills with the intent to draw more people in so they can kill more people and such, you know Freddy is The Joker, Freddie could be more Riddler though.
As for Jason yeah no need to mess with that really, Jason is the most versatile I feel as he can just be plopped into different situations, he's also a unique blend between Freddy & Myers in that silly stuff can happen with him though he doesn't intentionally create comedic moments, like you could not do Michael in space he's just not that type of character.
But releasing the rejected scripts as novels or as comics even could be cool, I agree Jason & Michael are easier just to keep going despite the age of the series as they are easily replaced by new actors and most don't really differ from actor to actor, Freddy though is so tied to Robert however you cannot recast him really, though they could always rework him so Freddy becomes more a Pennywise type where he uses his powers to shapeshift, only revealing the true Freddy visage in time for a killing blow, or when taunting his foes, though IO guess the problem would mostly be for the final showdowns, but like I said done right you could replace Freddy as the villain given his powers ultimately come from elsewhere and not intrinsically his own, I also think if they killed of Freddy and introduced his grandkid or someone as the new Krueger you could keep Robert in the films to a lesser extent by having Freddy be like the demon in the new killers ear the whole time, this you could use to keep some of the funnier elements in the films if you made the new killer more serious, the Freddy in their head could be rude, crude and full of attitude, Nightmare is a bit of an odd duck in that sense, Englund is Freddy and that's an issue but the series has the ability to go so whacky to accommodate keeping Robert around however they need to.
Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well Deb, hope you get better soon though, more fn around here when you are active, the doc sounds cool but why the zombie Jason pic? that just made me chuckle.

Thank you dazz and I will try to be more active when I am feeling better 'cause I love talking to you and other members on here but at the moment I am feeling hot and have a headache again like I had when I was at work yesterday but I am soldiering on and am going to work tomorrow and I have been more concerned about Beccy today 'cause she was showing signs of having the flu when she got up this morning but she is okay and she has a stronger immune system than I do and it is rare when she gets sick. The New Robert Englund documentary sounds like it is going to be really good and they will probably release more information about that soon and did you see 'To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story' that came out in 2017? I am surprised we haven't had a documentary on the 'Child's Play' movies yet 'cause we have had a few for 'A Nightmare On Elm Street', 'Friday the 13th' and 'Halloween' and 'Child's Play' is one of the big Horror franchises that is still going that hasn't had one yet and did you know we kinda got a 'Halloween/ Child's Play' crossover in some ways since Brad Dourif played the Sheriff in the Rob Zombie remakes and I would like to see Chucky become human again in the TV Show so we can see Brad playing him again and he was really creepy playing Chucky in the flashbacks in 'Curse of Chucky.'
Oh. Okay. I love 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 and 5' and those are my two favourites in the franchise and Alice was my first favourite character in a movie and I loved watching her kick Freddy's ass and beat him in both movies. 3 I love and I was disappointed Patricia Arquette didn't return in 4 to play Kristen again but I think Tuesday Knight did a good job and I like Tuesday as a singer and I have a few of her albums and her self titled album was really good and underrated in my opinion. If they could get Patricia to come back now they could even make a sequel to 3 and that ignores the other movies and Patricia went on to become a bigger actress as many know and getting back for 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' movie would be a good deal. I would watch another movie with Alice or Nancy as the lead but I worry if they continued after one a lot of people will accuse them of copying 'Halloween' and I would like to see more Horror films that continue on to other sequels than just the first one becoming a trend and I would love it if the new 'Hellraiser' movie was a sequel to 3 as I have mentioned to you before 'cause that would put us back in the original continuity and you could watch the first three movies again and then watch the new one which would have Ashley back as Kirsty but I doubt it would happen. Although Jaime Lee Curtis returning for 'Halloween' and the success of it shows age shouldn't make a difference with these movies.
I don't know with Freddy's identity though 'cause I like him being comedic at times and I actually think that made him more scarier 'cause they could have made him an angry revenge type of killer who just wanted to kill all the children to get revenge on their parents who murdered him but Freddy goes one step further into being sadistic 'cause he really enjoys killing people and has fun doing it and I think that makes him scarier in some ways but they did go a bit far in the later movies making him cartoonish. I like your idea for him being more like the Riddler though and I still don't feel like we have had a really good Riddler in the movies and I liked Ed in 'Gotham' but I would like to see one that is narcissistic as the one in the 'Arkham' games who thinks he is Batman's intellectual superior and gets angry when Batman beats his riddles and accuses him of cheating. That is really funny in the games how he got really paranoid and goes "What!! No. It Can't be. You must have cheated." Did you hear there was going to be a prequel to 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' and they were going to have it turn out Freddy was innocent and the parents killed the wrong person? What would you have thought of that if they had gone through with it? I personally think it would have been a horrible idea and would have made no sense given how his personality has been in the movies 'cause if he was innocent he would have definitely been a more angry revenge type of killer then.
The writers of the rejected 'Friday the 13th' scripts releasing them as novels or comic books would be a good way for fans to get to read them and there have already been a few 'Friday the 13th' novels and comic books so I could see it being done and I don't think I asked you before but did you play the 'Friday the 13th' game and what did you think of that? It was announced last year they are working on a 'Child's Play' video game and I think 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' video game could be fun too and they could get Robert back for that to play the voice of Freddy and other actors and actresses from the previous movies like Heather and Lisa. They are re-releasing the 2009 'Ghostbusters' game now that many see as 'Ghostbusters 3' since it was written by Dan and Harold and had most of the original cast return and I am excited about that 'cause I liked that game and I am hoping they add some additional things to it like the original second final level that was in Times Square that was cut 'cause I heard that was completed but they didn't end up putting it in due to time constraints. Ohh and the pic was 'cause Jason is even scarier without the mask on.

I think the lack of a Childs Play doc stems from the relatively smaller fanbase, CP has made about 1/3 that of the likes of Halloween, Friday & Nightmare which are in the $750m range each, could see one coming out in the next year though if the movie does well this year, you know to build up interest in the TV show meant to be airing next year inline with the original cannon.
I get your point about not trying to copy Halloween but as a way to either tie up the series or reboot it a little that would make the most sense imo, unless they did as you said and carry on from Part 3 if they could get Arquette back.
Isnt the Freddy was innocent part of the remake, where it seemed like he was innocent but turns out no he was a pedo, I dislike the he was innocent idea myself, Freddy isn't a sympathetic villain, he's a twisted fucker with a warped sense of humour, if he was a vengeful type he wouldn't kill the kids as he does, he'd be more straight up with them, the taunting and games would be for the parents who he really wants to get back at, the kids he'd just kill to prove a point, because he was a killer before coupled with his vengeful streak I think it works well in establishing his personality, he likes killing that's why he has fun with it, it's not his job but his passion and he likes making it interesting for himself, sometimes this works well other times not so much, his personality in the first film and kills like the welcome to prime time bitch are where personality shines, it's not just humour but cruel humour, he's not just evil he's a dick too boot.
I agree I like the annoyance and shock in Riddler when you solver his puzzles in the Arkham games, I never played the Friday game I heard theres a lawsuit which just went forward a little more between the guy suing everyone for the rights of the first film, which I think is odd seeing the game is like all Jason right? which will likely keep things tied up in litigation for years so hopes of more games azre up in smoke at this point for those who cared, I didn't but oh well.
A Nightmare game could be fun though not sure how it would go, my guess part action part puzzle or something but that would be fun if they got Robert in for voice overs and partial performance capture I guess.

Yeah. You are probably right about 'Child's Play' but it is still one of the most well known Horror franchises and I think there are fans who would love to see it and I remember reading there was supposed to be a documentary of 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' movies coming out at one point but I think it might have been dropped around the same time as the last movie that didn't end up getting made did. Did you know there were plans to make another 10 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' movies and one of them was going to have Leatherface in the city but the people who were creating the last one (Lionsgate and Millennium Films) run out of time making it and the rights switched hands to a different owner so none of the movies went through. I have heard the person who owns them now is looking to make more movies but is going to go in an entirely different direction than the previous movies and I actually like the idea of having a movie in the city with Leather even though it technically wouldn't be 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' 'cause it would be different and give the writers something new to do with the character. Have you seen all 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' movies and did you like the remake with Jessica Biel and Eric Balfour from 'Haven' and '24?'
With the 'Child's Play' TV Show coming I could see them making a documentary now too and I have noticed some people have been saying the 'X Men' are the longest movie franchise to continue in the original continuity but I am pretty sure 'Child's Play' and 'Puppet Master' have them beat along with 'Friday the 13th', 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' and 'Halloween.' Hugh Jackman played Wolverine for a long time but Brad Dourif has been playing Chucky longer even though there are less movies and Donald Pleasence played Dr. Loomis in the 'Halloween' movies from 1978 all the way to 1996 in 'Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers' which he died right after making but as far as Horror franchises in the original continuity still going 'Child's Play' and 'Puppet Master' are the two that come to mind and we got a 'Puppet Master' reboot but it is set in an alternate timeline and Charles Band said the next 'Puppet Master' movie is going to be set back in the original timeline with the good puppets and he wants both to keep going at the same time so we have both franchises having two different versions going at the same time and the 'Child's Play' reboot might end up leading to another franchise with Mark Hamill as the lead if it is successful.
I can't remember what direction they went in with Freddy in the remake 'cause I only watched it once and wasn't happy with it but we have it on DVD to go with the other movies so we might give it another chance one day. I didn't mind the remake of 'Friday the 13th' and a lot of fans I know liked that movie much more than the 'Nightmare On Elm Street' remake and it was fun seeing Sam face Jason Vorhees even though he wasn't a Winchester in it and I still think having Sam and Dean vs Jason or Freddy would have been fun to see and it is a shame we never got it and they had Robert appear in an episode but he wasn't allowed to play Freddy Kreuger. If New Line Cinema had worked something out with them they could have had a 'Supernatural' movie where they faced Freddy and I read there were plans to have Ghostbusters vs Freddy after 'Ghostbusters 3' but it never happened due to Bill Murray and Harold Ramis falling out and not making the third movie. That would have been really different but with Freddy's comedic nature it might have been able to fit into the 'Ghostbusters' universe but I don't think a simple trap would have been enough to catch Freddy and they would have needed to do more to defeat him.
I agree with you about Freddy's personality and whether they get Robert back or not for the next movie I am hoping they do keep him a little comedic and not just flat and angry and I can see why some fans thought they went overboard with it later but I think his comedic side is part of who he is too and he definitely enjoys killing and torturing people. He also enjoys the burned form he is in 'cause they showed in 6 he can go back to making himself look like he did when he was a human and Freddy tried to trick his daughter near the end by appearing to her in his human form but he enjoys looking scary and he loves taking people's souls and feeding off them is what gives him his power. I heard about the Jason rights and it is disappointing and we probably won't get a new movie for a long time but they have confirmed the new 'Nightmare On Elm Street' movie is going to happen, we have new 'Halloween' and 'Hellraiser' movies coming and we will most likely have another 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' movie coming out soon too and I hope they really shake things up in the latter. I would like to see 'Demons' come back with a third movie that takes place in a new area.

The rights thing is annoying because in the end the guy at best is going to get the original film rights back and that version of Jason, because the Jason we all know was created from Part 3 onwards nothing about the iconic character should go to the guy, he'll own the rights to swamp boy Jason who jumps out of the boat, and the full name of Jason Voorhees maybe, New Line should still own the rights to the hockey masked Jason however, and as they have proven the name Voorhees means dick, all New Line films aren't called Friday The 13th or Jason Voorhees just Jason whatever, which like once this whole shit show is over with I could see New Line just pumping out a Jason movie lickity split.
I don't know about the timeline things to be honest, I mean it's like ok does 2 count in the continuity of 3, 4 & 5 is 6 actually connected to any of them? Halloween was like 1 & 2 then skipped to a new universe for 3 and back for 4, 5 & 6 then reset from 2 for 7 & 8 then reset again to the start for Rob Zombies films then reset from the end of the first film for Halloween 2018, Friday kind of got reset every film after New Line brought the Jason rights because they didn't own the rights to the first 8 films, but then X-Men aren't a single continuity either, I mean from film to film they differ greatly, Last Stand would have you believe Logan was part of the team for years prior to Jean dying, when he really knew them for like a week, First Class reset everything in ways that never made sense, like suddenly Charles & Mystique are like siblings, Hank created Cerebro on his own, Magneto got his helmet from Kevin Bacon and it just got more fucked up as that series went.
Have you ever seen the fan film of Freddy Vs The Ghostbusters, Deb? I saw it years ago it's pretty fun imo, I would love to see this be made a reality Robert facing off with Murray would be fucking awesome as Freddy & Peter respectively.
Never watched the Chainsaw movies, though they could set the film in a city and it still be a Texas chainsaw massacre, Dallas is in Texas after all as is Houston and a lot of other cities, but those films never interested me, im not too big on horror to be honest, I only really like Michael, Freddy & Jason films, though I have watched other films and enjoyed them to a degree only those 3 ever really hooked me as a fan unless you also count Alien as a horror or Scream otherwise I they just don't float my boat too much, I appreciate some of them like I think I saw Pumpkinhead and liked it, Wishmaster was kinda cool, I think I have seen a few of the Warlock movies, Phantasm was meh imo and some other films I have forgotten the names of.

I thought I would let you know I am not going to have time to reply to your posts on the 'Arrow' board today dazz 'cause I am running a little behind with everything today after getting home late from taking our Malshis on a walk and my cousin and her husband are coming over for dinner tonight and this is the second time my cousin has been out since coming home from hospital. She was in a car accident recently and thankfully she wasn't seriously injured but she was hurt and has a sore back and shoulder and has to see a Chiropractor and is having time off work until she is better but coming here is a big step for her. I am very close to my cousin and am just happy she is okay 'cause if something really bad had happened to her I would have been a complete mess. The rights thing is annoying and I still don't understand why this has only become a problem now and why the writer of the first movie never wanted to own the rights of the Jason Vorhees character until they were working on the 13th movie and I think 'cause it is the 13th movie of the 'Friday the 13th' franchise that is why they want to secure the rights to that name and I read they have special plans for the next movie 'cause it is the 13th.
I agree that New Line Cinema should own the rights for Hockey masked Jason and I would go even further than that and say they should own him from 'Friday the 13th Part 2' onwards 'cause that was the movie that brought him back and made him big and had him covering his face and I am wondering if Victor Miller really is the one who wants the rights to Jason Vorhees or it is somebody in his family 'cause I just find it so odd he has only done this now and looking back at some of his previous interviews about the franchise before this he didn't want to have anything to do with them and a funny thing is there is one interview where he pretty much says he didn't create the Jason Vorhees in the movies after the first one and he had no plans to bring Jason back if he continued writing them so this whole thing now is odd and I just hope they work something out in the near future 'cause I would like to see more Jason Vorhees movies and I know a lot of other Horror fans that would too and a lot of people think now is the time to bring it back after the success of the latest 'Halloween' movie.
The 'Halloween' timeline is very confusing but I have always seen the original timeline as 'Halloween 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6' 'cause those were the movies that had Doctor Loomis in them and Donald Pleasence was listed as the main star. If you look at some of the interviews about 'H20' the only reason that movie happened was 'cause Donald died and they planned to continue them after 6 with Dr Loomis as the main star and that is why they filmed an ending where Dr Loomis lived. They wanted to bring Jaime Lee Curtis back but if Donald had lived she would have most likely teamed up with Dr Loomis to take on Michael again and it would have been a sequel to 6. There were scenes that were cut in 'H20' that tied it onto the other movies including one where Laurie hears the name of her daughter (Jaime Lloyd) as one of the victims Michael has killed over a speaker and she gets upset and runs to the toilet to vomit and it was cut and it was never officially confirmed 'H20' ignores 'Halloween 6' and that was something the writer (Steve Miner) said fans come up with so I think one could technically still count 'H20' and 'Resurrection' as sequels to 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 taking place in the same timeline as part of the original franchise.
'Halloween 3' is definitely not tied to the others though and we see Michael in that on a TV and 'Halloween 1 and 2' are just movies in 'Season of the Witch' and I liked 'Season of the Witch' and think it got a lot of unfair hate from fans for not having Michael Myers in it but like others I think it shouldn't have been a 'Halloween' movie and if they remake it which I read recently might happen I hope they call it 'Season of the Witch' and minus the 'Halloween' title off it. I think it would have been more popular when it came out if they had separated it and I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to it to see what happened with the masks. Weren't they supposed to turn all the children into demons? There was a 'Goosebumps' novel I have read and I can't remember the name of it now but it was kinda similar to that in ways and the children who put the masks on become demons and terrorized the town and if they continued it a sequel like that could have been interesting. I didn't know about the fan film but I will look into that 'cause it would be fun to see Freddy and the Ghostbusters in a movie.

No worries Deb you keep focused on the important stuff that's what matters, sorry about your cousin that sounds rough, but atleast they are on the mend right, hope they have a quick and relatively easy recovery for what it's worth.
But with Friday I guess it's just that thing all these IP's are making money these days and the feeling is where's my check? and now is the prime time to get it because who knows in 10 years if IP's will fall out of favour for original ideas or not.
Season Of The Witch wasn't a bad movie, just wasn't a good one either imo, but when people were probably expecting to see Michael Myers killing horny teens and instead we get some moustached chump failing to save children from getting their heads eaten and turned to spiders and snakes I can see the resentment.
Oh and yeah they didn't get turned into demons the masks killed the kids turning their bodies into like snakes and spiders and shit that then kill the parents or some other rubbish, what the point was if there was one I cannot recall in the slightest myself.
Could work if the reboot it though, make the killings part of some sort of sacrificial ritual or something, get rid of the robots and just make them possessed or under a spell humans , I think that's the issue with the original, it's ok so Stonehenge, robots, mask's with Stonehenge pieces which turn a kids head into spiders, it's called season of the witch and...nope too convoluted for me, scale it back simplifiy or atleast pick a direction and stick with it, if they used this as the first episode in an anthology horror series they do every year for Halloween I think it could work, just you know don't try and do every horror anthology story in a single movie is my recommendation.

Thanks. I forgot to mention in my last post I have always been a fan of Horror movies and Horror movies have been my favourite movie genre since I was little and I like a number of other genres but none of them really got my attention the same way Horror movies have and I think the 70s, 80s and 90s produced some of the best Horror movies of all time but we have been getting a lot of good new ones lately and one thing I am hoping we get to see more of are Slasher movies 'cause we have a lot of good Slasher comic book series as I mentioned before that I love like 'Hack/Slash' but we haven't seen many on screen in the last two decades aside from remakes which is very disappointing 'cause the Slasher genre is fun and just needs talented and inventive writers and good characters. The lack of new Slasher is one of the reasons why so many fans still want more movies in the 'Nightmare On Elm Street', 'Friday the 13th', 'Halloween' and 'Child's Play' franchises 'cause they are not making any to replace them and we are mostly getting ghost movies now and it seems to have been that way since the early 00s. We need more classic Horror type of villains like Freddy, Michael, Jason, Pinhead and Leatherface that can carry franchises and I hope we get the new 'Wishmaster' movie 'cause I think that is one that could be successful if it is revived.
I think you are right about 'Friday the 13th' and they just want more money but by delaying a movie from happening I think they could be doing more damage to the franchise in the long run and they are missing out in cashing in on the people who want to see a new one made now and with the success of the new 'Halloween' a lot of people are talking about bringer the older favourites back from the 70s and 80s and I think whatever direction 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' goes in they will benefit from the success of 'Halloween' and 'Halloween' broke quite a lot of records last year and was one of the most talked about movies of any genre. As they said on Sunrise Horror movies are back in and they could easily be the next big It genre and even overtake the superhero genre but they need to capitalise on that now. I forgot to ask but have you seen the 'Candyman' movies dazz and did you hear there is a new one coming out soon? Tony Todd is going to be in it but he will not be playing the Candyman this time and I am kinda disappointed over that 'cause I think Tony was great in the role and would have liked to have seen him play that character one more time but I am going to give the new movie a chance and it could be a big hit.
I share your thoughts with 'Season of the Witch' and no, it wasn't a great movie but I enjoyed it and thanks for reminding me of that and I still think it might be a success now if they were to remake it and do a better version of it and they could even set it up for a new franchise of its own but with the kids becoming demons this time 'cause I think that would be better and scarier than just having the snakes and spiders and I am actually surprised they didn't go in that direction and have the lead have to try and stop the demons. That would have been fun to see but I like movies with demons in them and loved the 2 'Demons' movies and want to see a third one of that. Have you seen 'Demons 1 and 2' or any of Dario Argento's movies? I loved the 'Alien' movies too especially the first four with Ripley and I never got why we didn't get 'Alien 5' 'cause I heard they were making one with Ripley and Winona Ryder's character returning and it was going to be based on earth in a city and that would have been fun to see but they kicked Ripley out after 4 and a lot of my friends wanted to see both Sigourney and Arnold in 'Alien vs Predator' and I think that might have been a better movie if they had got them back. I liked 'Pumpkinhead' and I have that and some of the sequels on DVD and 'Wishmaster' is very underrated and Robert Englund even called the first one the most underrated Horror movie of all time and should get another chance.
The 'Scream' movies were good and I liked 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' too along with the sequel but I hated the third movie and was annoyed they didn't get Jennifer Love Hewitt back for it and she had said in recent interviews she would love to come back for a third and with us getting 'Legally Blonde 3' soon with Reese Witherspoon we might get a proper 'I Know What You Did Last Summer 3' too. Did you only watch 'Phantasm 1' or did you watch 2 'cause if you only watched the first I would suggest giving the second a chance 'cause it is the best movie in the franchise and a lot of my friends loved it the most and if you like the 'Child's Play' movies give the 'Puppet Master' movies a chance 'cause they are good movies too.

I disagree with the horror could overtake CBM's idea myself, but if they do it right, you know keep the budgets small but the potential big like Blumhouse tends to do like with Halloween that's a license to print money, may not dethrone CBM's but could be the most profitable even if not the most widely watched genre for years to come.
Never saw demons, like I said my horror viewing is limited, I mean I watched a few more, mostly creature movies, I saw a bunch of the cheap dino horror films like Carnosaur, a few like Croc or Shark movies, one or two of the Exorcist films, an Omen movie or two I think, Slaughter High I watched once as a kid, there are some more but they were one off's and I don't recall the names because it was just something on TV to watch in the wee hours.
Alien 5 on Earth got nixed because Sigourney didn't want to do it and wanted to go back to the original planet they found the Aliens on, then they couldn't figure out the script, I think a hold up for a whole was Sigourney is very particular about what she wants in the movies, and last time they gave in we got Resurrection and Ripley being intimate with the aliens, also I don't think 4 made all that much money, maybe none if you figure it made most of it's loot internationally where they take a smaller cut from the theatres, then they did the AVP films which I liked the first one, the second is shit though, then Ridley got his mits on the IP and those films are fucking stupid as fuck, some how the Xenomorphs existed so that they could be carved into the walls but then we don't get a Xenomorph at the end but a protomorph or whatever they called it, add to that the story is dumb, oh look we found the things that prove our theory...but all our questions were not answered in the same moment or this one afternoon now I am depressed...fuck you movie character whose name I do not care to remember glad David killed you.
I think I saw Phantasm 1...that's the one with the kid right? I mean the Tall Man's creepy enough but the story was kind all over the shop for me, and Phantasm 2 from what I have heard, reviews I watched about it sounds not much better, the series by the end is just batshit though apparently, I did see Candyman 1 I think atleast a decade or more ago, I thought it was good but I never checked any of the others out.
I don't think holding up the Friday the 13th series hurts the writer as I doubt he gets anything for them, that's the point I think, he claims he created the stuff himself but Cunningham says he was just work for hire and given the basis for the script, and with New Line owning Jason but not the Friday title even if they make a new Jason movie he shouldn't be cut in really either, so it's like no skin off his nose if no one can make a movie for a while I guess.

Yeah. I suppose it seems unlikely ‘cause Horror is not really a genre people of all ages can watch like a lot of superhero movies have been and they don’t bring in the same numbers at the box office due to younger viewers not watching the movies but the Horror still has a large following and it has been around a lot longer than many of the haters thought it would be and I think one of the main reasons for that is what Robert Englund said in an interview a few years back and that is Horror has the most loyal fans of any movie genre and they get behind the movies and watch all of them and I feel Robert is right with that and you only have to look at a franchise like the ‘Puppet Master’ which is one of the longest franchises in movie history and it is not the general audience which has been keeping it alive. It is us Horror/ Puppet Master fans who buy the movies which is why Charles Band keeps making more of them.
Looking at some of the other Horror franchises which have lasted for a long time some of them have very little in common with the first movie and even the second and third and it is like the studios just take any Horror script, make a few slight changes and slap the title to attract fans but franchises like the ‘Puppet Master’ have stayed true to themselves and the Puppets have remained the focus of the movies since the very start from when the puppets were villains to heroes to being the villains again in the new alternate universe and the movies all feel like ‘Puppet Master’ movies and aren’t cash ins of the name to con viewers into seeing them. Blumhouse has been having a lot of success with their movies lately and the next ‘Halloween’ movie is bound to be a success now ‘cause there are heaps of fans who want to see another one and it gives me hope for what they will do with ‘Hellraiser.’
When it comes out the new ‘Hellraiser’ movie under Blumhouse could be the most successful movie in the whole ‘Hellraiser’ franchise if they finally get things right unlike the people who were in charge of the last few movies and as popular as the earlier movies were ‘Hellraiser’ was never the big movie franchise ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’, ‘Friday the 13th’ or ‘Halloween’ were but if it were to have the same success or even half the success the new ‘Halloween’ had it would put ‘Hellraiser’ up with all of those names and we could see a massive turnaround. I think with some Horror franchises which are seen as being broken they just need the right people writing them and I believe ‘Children of the Corn could be successful again under the right writers and I remember reading the rights for that were set to go back to Stephen King soon and Stephen wanted to write one himself since he hasn’t been a big fan of the other movies.
I have lost count of how many Horror movies I have watched over the years () and I am pretty sure I have seen all the biggest franchises now and Horror is a genre that is full of franchises so much that a lot of the franchises are more well-known than the single movies and a lot of people including non-Horror fans who don’t watch them know of Freddy, Jason, Michael, Chucky and Leatherface and the characters are what many fans go to see them for. The characters are larger than life for being loved and feared around the world and this is where I have been disappointed with many superhero films ‘cause comic books have so many great scary villains that could be just as big as those names but for the most part I feel like the writers have largely failed with them and I am not saying there has not been any good ones but by and large the comic book genre should have the best villains.
I wasn’t a fan of the humanized versions of ‘The Scarecrow’ in ‘Batman Begins’ or Shocker in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ as I have said to you and other members before and I feel they could have been so much better and more memorable if they had adapted them the way they are in the comic books and a lot of comic book movies seem to change villains – some to the point where they are not even recognizable apart from their name and I can see why they like to humanize some of them but think the absence of humanity in a villain can make them a lot scarier. I like how the ‘Arkham’ games took the villains and kept them largely true to their comic book counterparts and I believe if DC live action movies did the same thing they would be more successful. What they did with Killer Croc in ‘Suicide Squad’ was very disappointing and then what they did with Doomsday was too.
I like how ‘Krypton’ has been handling their villains and have you been watching the latest season of that Dazz ‘cause we have and will be watching the newest episode tonight and they have Lobo in the show now and the Syfy Channel are making a ‘Lobo’ spinoff show and from what we have seen so far he has been mostly a villain but I think they will make him more of an antihero as it goes on to set up the character for his own show and he will help them fight Zod and Doomsday. I have enjoyed seeing their version of General Zod so far but I still find it funny that he is the same actor who played Walter in ‘Arrow’ and it is like Walter went away and came back very grumpy and needs a hug. lol I do hope he returns for the final season of ‘Arrow’ ‘cause he is one of the characters that played a big part in the earlier seasons that has mostly been forgotten about.
You would have thought the writers would have had him return when Oliver revealed himself as the Green Arrow to the public or when Oliver went to prison last season ‘cause those are two important things to find out about a person who is close to you especially when Walter said he loved Oliver and Thea like he was their real Father but he was nowhere to be seen. Thanks for letting me know about what happened to ‘Alien 5’ and the fourth movie wasn’t as popular as the others but I still wish they had made one more ‘Alien’ movie with Sigourney as Ripley and did you hear we nearly got one a few years ago and there was all this talk about an ‘Alien’ movie that would continue on from the second one and ignore the events of 3 and 4 and have Ripley and her daughter as the main stars but it does not look like it is happening now and I would have liked that sooo much more than the last few ones we got and those have been a mess.
