I kind of hate both movies, but I guess I hate Avatar less so I’m not sure how I feel about this anymore.

Disappointing it was the mediocre Endgame and nkt the superior Infinity War. Not a worthy successor IMO.

Disappointing it was the mediocre Endgame and nkt the superior Infinity War. Not a worthy successor IMO. the problem for me is after a year or two max all the avengers anc co movies blend to me... hard to say which one was really better. Thor Ragnarok is the only one that stood the (still limited test of time in my head. But all I remember about avatar is the color blue so... I am glad Avengers won.

Avatar had a great run that's for sure. And yes, I found it to be immesensly superior to Endgame as well(thought Endgame was just okay. ). But congrats to Marvel though.

"Gone with the Wind" would have sold $1.958 billion worth of tickets today in the US market alone, based on what the National Association of Theatre Owners says was an average US ticket price in 2018 of $9.11. Worldwide, and with inflation taken into account, the film would have taken in a stunning $3.44 billion, the Guinness Book of World Records has estimated. That compares to $2.7902 billion for "Avengers: Endgame," which this weekend just squeaked past the "Avatar" total of $2.7897. Consider also that the US population in 1939 was a mere 130 million, roughly 200 million less than today. Why 'Gone With the Wind' eclipses both 'Avengers' and 'Avatar'So lets see if Endgame will ever beat Gone With The Wind the true highest grossing movie of all time.

No it wouldn't because that story wouldn't interest people as much in 2019 as it did in 1939.

Gone With the Wind ran in theaters for years and there was no other way to see it.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still the domestic champ though with $936,000,000 versus Avengers: Endgame's 855 (as of 7/25/19). Can Endgame make over 81 mill more in the states?

Which means nothing as that implies there is a 1 to 1 comparison between them, there isn't, GWTW came out when there wasn't as much choice in terms of entertainment, when going to the movies was an actual event.
Also shows how kind of laughably superficial what you say is, 1939 was when the film was released, but it was dec 1939 so really it's first year of release was actually 1940, where the US population was closer to 133m, GWTW was also screened as a roadshow until 1941, for the first 6-7 months selling tickets for $1 and up, 4 times higher than the average ticket prices, in mid 1940 they lowered prices by half until it ran out of steam as a road show and then released normally for normal prices in 1941, the film would then be re-released 4 times over the next 20 years.
So yeah not a fair 1 to 1 comparison at all, also may suggest the estimates for GWTW's adjusted numbers aren't right, doesn't take away from GWTW's achievement it's an astounding film and an success unmatchable by todays standards, but same can be said about Endgame, this isn't apples to oranges it's more like comparing a Lamborghini to an F22.

Better be careful with all your logic and facts you're presenting, the same poster called me a boring person in another thread for making a couple of the same points, but without your meticulous detail.

If Gone with the Wind was released in 2018, it would be a colossal bomb. No threat to Endgame, whatsoever.
